The attached files are screen shots. The number number at the beginning of the sentence relates to the file name i.e.1. relates to NI-1 etc. 1. I have started with an empty project in cakewalk by bandlab. 2. Now, I create an instrument track. I do change the input to midisport channel 1. 3. Now I have selected the cello fromcinematic studio solo strings. Again i changed the input tp channel 1. 4. I have now done a recording and am receiving both audio and midi. 5. But, if I don't like my recording and I undo the recording and try to record again, 6. I only get midi and no audio. I hope this explains it. Thank you for whatever information anuone can provide. Is it just operator head space, is it a problem with cakewalk or what? Thank you again.

You have been very helpful. Here is another question I hope you can help me with. I record one take(just a test with a full ensemble instrument and audio track). Everythings fine. I get recorded midi and recorded audio. Now I do another take with another instrument from the CSSS library (cello) and an audio track. I don't like the second recording so I delete the audio and midi. Now I can record it again. I get a midi recording but not the audio. I have to delete the instrument and audio track in order to rerecord. What is up with that? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I should add that I am using an M-Audio midisport 4X4.

i am seeing the light come on with tine midi in. I'm sorry for being so late in responding to all your comments. I really appreciate all the help. Glenn got me able to record one track. And I did have it setup to hear and see the track recording the second track. I stupidly quit and didn't record it. It was garbage, but just something to see that it worked. The nest day I the first track played back but the second track that I hadn't recorded wouldn't record. I'll try from scratch. I followed Glenn's instructions and I will try it again. Again, thank all of you for your help.

I forgot to mention that i could hear the instrument while recording.

I just started a new project. Inserted an instrument track and selected Kontakt as the instrument. I also selected the midisport channel 1 as the input. The csss folder came up in the library. I selected cello. Set the record on for the channel, I recorded and the midi showed up in the track. Played back and nothing. Set up a second track using the violin I. Set midi in to 2, recorded, midi showed up in track. Played back and nothing. I really am sorry for being so ***** on this, but just very confused.

I did get into projectSAM and got Kontakt player standalone up. I went to native access but the projectSAM orchestra wasn't listed in available.

Thank you for your help. Question, if I didn't originally add the cinematic studio solo strings in the Kontakt stand alone mode, should I uninstall and reinstall the strings? I don't remember to be honest. Thanks again for hanging with me on this.

Thank you for your response. I am using an instance of Kontakt for each instrument. I don't have anu other Kontakt instruments. It hasn't happened with other VST's other than Kontakt. I am using individual channel/tracks for each instrument. Thanks again.

I'm trying to record using cinematic studio solo strings. I have inserted four instrument tracks using Kontakt, (Kontakt 7 player) violin, violin II, viola and cello. Now I record a track. Play it back, nothing. If I reload the instrument, it will work one time through and then I have to reload the instrument. Then I have also had the problem that all the tracks set as sustain notes play as stacccato. What am I doing wrong. I am using version 2023 .09 and the cinematic studio solo strings was loaded on 20 dec 2023.

I am having trouble getting a signal to a midi track using the midisport 4x4. I am coming out of an old keboard controller into the midisport and out to the computer using the usb. Cakewalk recognizes the midisport but no signal. Am I doing something wrong?
