  1. "Generic High Speed ASIO Driver" is another Steinberg ASIO Driver, an earlier version of the Built-In Driver. I cannot find an install file for it, and I save all install files. It may be (or may have been) part of the install package for the UR44C. I contacted Steinberg for a Download link for the driver.
  2. I was able to run CbB, Massive, EarMaster 7 at the same time. All with sound. Also, CbB and Guitar Pro 8 at same time. Reaper and CbB don't seem to be able to simultaneously use Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver. Dorico and CbB the same. Later I will check if using voice meeter banana asios all mixed into YSUSBD works. On further inspection it looks like CbB took all the YSUSBD. The other apps just slip into WASAPI mode but they send to the UR44C. The VMB does run CbB and other DAW thru YSUSBD. Can also use two DAWS using YSUSBD and Generic High Speed ASIO Driver. Lastly, CbB uses YSUSBD and Melodyne uses the Generic High Speed ASIO Driver.
  3. Fixed it. See solution here.
  4. Yes, that is the solution. Get rid of the Built in Driver and set everything to use the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver (I still have the Generic High Speed Drive installed.) For the UR44C. Read the manual. Install the software. https://o.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads_hardware/downloads_ur44.html The basic FX suite has a mixer kind-of-like the voice meeter banna but not as useful. ( pay the License, it's worth it) It does have DSP effects and allows you to easily update firmware. Make sure to plug it into a USB 3.0 or higher port. The Driver control panel can check if the device is at "SuperSpeed."
  5. I installed Dorico 5 be cause Finale is going away. I think it installed the Built in driver as the default and it is not friendly. The solution may be to uninstall both the Generic ASIO Driver and Built in Driver and only use the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver, That's what I going to try.
  6. Until yesterday I could run several ASIO dependent programs at the same time using a UR44C. I still can as long as I'm not running CbB. CbB is crashing on open. Steinberg has done something with their driver or CbB has not been updated for a new standard. Maybe both. The Driver appears to puke on some VST2 configurations. I'm using the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V2.1.7. Apparently they are replacing the Generic low Latency Driver with the Steinberg built in Driver.
  7. Re-install failed to fix it. It seems like there is something about the ASIO that does not agree with CbB. Sonar Platinum still works. I've noticed the same sort of issues with the ARIA Player from makemusic, it is part of the Finale software that is going away. That problem was bandaged by using Voice meeter Banana as an intermediary between ARIA Player and Yamaha Steinberg Driver. CbB just hangs. I cannot edit any preferences.
  8. Is there a preferences file anywhere that I can edit to stop it from looking for or loading ASIO Drivers?
  9. Installed Dorico 5 because Finale is going away. When I open Cakewalk by Band Lab it gets stuck in the VST scan. A small window on the screen flashes Generic Low Latency ASIO. Cakewalk is unresponsive and has to be shutdown with task manager. I have been using a UR44C for years using the Yamaha Steinberg Driver Can I reinstall CbB to fix this?
  10. Partly. The main drive is 2TB M2 so it is large enough and fast enough, I've got about 550 GB in use. It takes clonezilla about an 1.5 hours to make a backup. Mostly, I just don't like the clutter.
  11. I currently have both Sonar Platinum and Cakewalk by BandLab installed. Upon upgrading to Cakewalk Sonar, I would like to be able to remove both Platinum and CbB, without losing any plug-ins or projects. I understand there is a new version of the Command Center that may allow this as long as I have the Platinum Serial Numbers. Is this true? An installer that does all this is probably too much to ask for, so I am asking for explicit instructions. What folders need to be moved where? What order should things be installed and removed? Should I use the Microsoft Control Panel uninstaller or is there a better method? Thanks.
  12. I would love to have updated versions of Zeta, Rapture and Dimension Pro with a new version of Sonar.
  13. The main issue with subscriptions is that they are frequently set too high, and they are a pain in butt if you don't remember to update billing info. AVID wants way too much for any version of Pro-Tools. Reaper is probably the best bargain next to Cakewalk. Cubase is probably fairly priced. Ableton Live is a little high. I would hope that BandLab offers current users and Gibson victims an upgrade deal. One issue that I would like to see addressed is education. BandLab needs to reach out to schools to create courses that would use CakeWalk. (Berklee I'm looking at you)
