Sonar asking for Sign-in, but Sign-in is timing out
Murray Webster replied to Steve Moddelmog's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Same here. Joke. Also, I was travelling for the last 4 days and Waves de-authorisation was down, so I couldn't even authorise my laptop. M -
Anyone else found this? I don't know when it happened but all my Ozone settings were reset to flat EQ M

Win 10, 11 and authorisations across machines
Murray Webster replied to Murray Webster's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Thanks Bristol, I know. But my question was whether I need to install CbB or will the new Sonar suffice? Is CbB available for new installs? I haven't used it since I subscribed. And what is the situation with future Win10 support for Sonar - could a future version invalidate moving projects across machines? Thanks! M -
Win 10, 11 and authorisations across machines

Something I said? Also, when re-installing software from the last 20 years do I follow the usual sequence up to Platinum and then skip CbB and go straight to subscription Sonar? Thanks! M -

Hi all, I have a dilemma, like a lot of people, I guess. I have a powerful Win 10 laptop in for repair quote, which can't 'officially' be updated to Win 11 (i7-7700 desktop processor). So wondering whether it's viable to keep it going. What's the deal with Cakewalk authorisations? Is there likely to be a scenario where a project that's created on a Win 11 machine can't be opened on a Win 10 machine or that a new Sonar version simply can't be installed or authorised on Win 10, and the current version won't run anymore? Then of course there is the decision to unofficially upgrade to Win 11 via Rufus etc. Many thanks! M

[SOLVED] Melodyne won't show notes or sound
Murray Webster replied to Murray Webster's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
OK many thanks for the reply. Turns out I was on Melodyne 4.2.3 and my license wouldn't allow me to upgrade to 5 - Celemony sorted it out very quickly in an hour via email ☺ M -
Latest version of Cake Sonar on my second Win 11 machine (laptop) Plays & looks fine on my Desktop. Should I be re-installing Melodyne or is there another solution? Many thanks M

As the title says, the CbB playback engine quits after stuttering for a second or so on one of my projects. I installed Sonar and unlike CbB it won't play any Melodyne tracks - I have the latest version of both. On a previous version of the project Melodyne reports that there was a problem with 'the structure of this document', whatever that means. Like a previous poster, and after many issues with the subscription program, I do wonder if this will ever be stable or whether it's time to jump ship? Support abandoned troubleshooting the last problem I had. I notice they've removed the 'This one will be a hit' splash screen nonsense. It won't be a hit if you can't even load the program! M

Unusable latency Nektar GX61 and Clarett 4PRE ASIO
Murray Webster replied to Murray Webster's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Thanks Erik, I think you're along the right lines there, except that I don't have any FX on those tracks or the Console channels they are routed to. Switching off all FX does work so I'll do some more experimentation when I get time! M -
Unusable latency Nektar GX61 and Clarett 4PRE ASIO
Murray Webster replied to Murray Webster's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Sorry guys, yes...more info... AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor 3.80 GHz 64Gb RAM Trying to play NI Session Horns Pro or Dimension Pro through ASIO 4PRE from the Nektar USB midi and there's like an 8th note audio delay when set to 16 samples. BIAB using ASIO playing TTS-1 is fine. M -
Hi all, Getting unusable latency with this combo even down as far as 16 samples. Works perfectly with Band-In-A-Box. Any ideas? Thanks! M

That's very useful! ☺

Thank you David and thank you Reginald. After a rant sometimes comes a realisation...I needed to keep the shift key pressed throughout safe mode! So, I have a version of the project from March 2014 which says it's X3 and opens fine. The next version is May 2022, presumably CbB, and has the exact same tracks and plugins and won't open. It's a clone of the 2014 one so I could resume. This one opens on my Win 10 and Win 11 laptops. I'm not sure what that indicates... M

This is now getting pretty frustrating, as it's my most important project. I managed to get into safe mode the first time I tried as Administrator and saved the file under a different name. Now it won't open in safe mode and I can't see where the file has been saved to. I renamed the crashing Wave Shells and they no longer crash but the project still doesn't open. 'This one's going to be a hit!' and 'Keep the momentum going' pop-ups feel like taunts 😉 Do I get Support to help? Thanks! M
