Thanks ??. So using the headphone jack won't damage the internals of the Scarlett like the pre amps correct? I was thinking about using an aux cable from the amp and plugging it in to the Scarlett's input with an adapter (best buy audio adapter) Amp-------(aux)------->(Adapter)->Scarlett input I just wanna make sure lol

How do I set up my guitar and Peavy Vypyr vip 1? I don't see a signal. Here's what I tried: Guitar is connected to amp via standard guitar input, then I use an aux cable in the amp's headphone jack and connect it to the Scarlett via an jack adapter, the the Scarlett connects to my pc. I will need to buy a pair of speakers as I've been using my amp as the output lol. Where am I going wrong?

Can't hear what I recorded with my microphone.

EDIT: I fixed it, you can delete this thread now lol -
Starting a new thread to explain the situation better. Cakewalk and my interface both recognize my dynamic mic, it plays thru my amp just fine, I can see the volume level and waveforms just fine, but when want to listen to my recording, there is no sound. I checked my volumes and stuff. I don't have this problem when recording line device (electric guitar), only mic.

When I try to listen to my recording, there's no sound. I can hear the mic just fine otherwise and I see the sound waves on the track so I know it's picking it up. Maybe I didn't configure something? It's just a basic mic from the Proline Mic Pack. I'm using a Scarlett solo 4th gen (recent b-day gift ?) and my guitar amp as my output until I find the jack adapter for my headset lol

About to get my first one. Found this interface that suits my budget, but I'm not sure of the compatibility with Cakewalk. I'm only gonna use a mic and one line for my guitar. And this should solve my latency issue right? https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-M-Track-Solo-Interface-Podcasting/dp/B08Q1NJSBQ/ref=asc_df_B08Q1NJSBQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475874092271&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11393675153777173281&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9052410&hvtargid=pla-1147112908967&mcid=a82d0c0a612a398aa7cbffe2a6ff66de&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsvWrBhC0ARIsAO4E6f8Him6kHNRpfVkjHaC0fSum8AvpFhKELS8no9jpWlqNYD_XFDn3KWoaAqiwEALw_wcB&th=1

How do I get rid of recording "lag"?
Krishna Ramsundar replied to Krishna Ramsundar's question in Q&A
Any suggestions for one under $50? I'm not going into recording professionally atm, if I do, I'll invest in a high end one. -

Thanks for your reply. WASAPI Shared is the only one that give me no trouble. It slightly improved but its still there. The delay is constant however. So if I can tell exactly how much it's off by, I can use that number to precisely trim each track I didn't know about nudge until now. That's neat! Now I gotta set it up. -
How do I get rid of recording "lag"?
Krishna Ramsundar replied to Krishna Ramsundar's question in Q&A
I'm new to DAW so I don't have an audio interface atm. I went from WASAPI to MME 32-bit bc my headphones weren't working, the lag is the same though. -
The best way I can word this is it seems the program is recording a split second behind me. Here's what I mean. I record the first track and then the second. When I listen to the full thing, the second track seems to play a split second behind the first track and I have to ripple edit a small piece out to line both up in sync. It's corrected afterwards, but I have to do this every single time I add more tracks.

Speakers play audio, but headphones/earbuds won't
Krishna Ramsundar replied to Krishna Ramsundar's question in Q&A
I'm using my laptop's built in speakers. Btw, I actually changed the driver mode to MME 32-bit and that seems to fix the problem.
