  1. I just noticed it's sitting there, can I free up some space safely by deleting it? Just not sure about shared plugins with sonar. Thank you.
  2. Thanks again everyone, I do have the old computer and we'll see what I can do with that. Good idea to search for cwp files
  3. Thanks for all of your replies. It's a new computer with a new hard drive, I had a computer shop do the transfer for me. So they should have copied all of my personal files like music and pictures to the new computer. Maybe they're there but I just can't find them and neither can sonar. I just remembered I do have a backup so maybe I can move the latest backup project files over to the new computer, that would be a simple fix. I've just been overwhelmed because Windows 11's looks so much different from Windows 10 to my eyes, at least the file structure. I do have a download folder for plugins but didn't keep track of authorization numbers. Most of them are small and many of them free. Thanks again for your interest
  4. I was dreading this for a long time but I finally had to do it. I can't find all of my projects in window 11, they're certainly not in the same file system as before. I did a search for one and nothing turned up. A second question is if I ever get this straightened out, all of those plugins or most of them need to be reinstalled. At this point I'm thinking of simplifying and just choosing the few that are most useful. Any advice on finding the projects or on how you handle all of those plugins we've acquired over the years? Thank you
  5. msmcleod good tip about the track manager, I never even noticed it before.
  6. Thanks for the replies, it wasn't entire tracks that were missing just several measures within tracks. The files before and after the missing space we're intact. Good shortcut about the track manager also, thanks
  7. I didn't change anything, just went from CBB to Sonar. I don't see anything wrong in the file locations in preferences, copy all data is still checked. One of my project folders has each song in it's own folder but none of the others do. Auto-save was every 15 minutes & I thought it was more often, so I just changed it now. I do see the auto-save copies are still in my folders but even the auto-save is missing the same tracks. I just opened CBB & it looks the same as Sonar. One of those unsolved mysteries...thanks for yr input!
  8. Thanks david, I don't have it in front of me right now but as I recall none of the projects were in their own folders in file explorer, whereas they all were in CBB. I'll try what you suggested and see what happens. It seems like a setting has changed inadvertently coming from CBB to sonar? How could this even happen, user error? There's not supposed to be anything different in the free tier sonar from CBB.
  9. I just opened a project I've been working on and the whole first verse is missing except for the vocal, including the arranger track. There's the intro and then several blank measures and then verse 2. I can't imagine what went wrong. I had one mix recall that I must have done at the beginning of the project but it was the same. I went into file explorer to look for a backup but there weren't any and also there were no individual folders for each project like in CBB. Has this changed in sonar? In CBB I used to see the project plus a saved or backup version, I forget exactly what it was called. Any thoughts about how to recover this? Thank you!
  10. Okay that's good to know, usually my issues eventually come down to user error. Still, it wasn't that way yesterday and then today I dnloaded the update before going to work on my project. At any rate I rarely pay attention to the bus outputs because I always keep them just routed to the master, I don't do any fancier routing. Anyway it's solved.
  11. ANSWER: The update changed some of the bus outputs & also unchecked show in/out so I didn't catch it right away. If you hear "ghost tracks," check the bus outputs. I mentioned something similar in the ghost track post. My vocal track outputs to a vocal bus. When I solo the vocal track it comes through both the vocal and a delay bus. I thought it must be something off with the reverb send, even though that makes no sense so I deleted the send and is still outputs to both buses. If I mute either of the buses then there's no sound. I checked the track manager and no hidden tracks. This just happened after dnloading the latest update. Any ideas? Thanks
  12. That's what I think even though most of my issues are user error.
  13. i just had a related issue, & i will read the post about sends Sailor55 listed. I have a vocal track with a delay send coming through to the delay bus even with the send turned off. Pre/post has no effect. Probably my error somehow, but how can a send be heard even when it's off? The workaround was just to delete the send.
