Odd distortion recording multiple tracks.Troy Winemiller replied to Troy Winemiller's topic in Cakewalk Sonar Appears to be the DC offset. I think this is solved. Wow. Thank you everyone! Edit: as for information... I can reproduce the problem with Remove DC offset checked, and it goes away when unchecked. Reliably so far.

Odd distortion recording multiple tracks.Troy Winemiller replied to Troy Winemiller's topic in Cakewalk Sonar Im on win10. But I forgot I have waveform, and will give that a look. Thanks! I had it on, but will look into this. I'm pretty sure I've always had it on. Thanks! Yeah, I'm aware of this. The distortion is on the recording itself and not induced by routing or panning. But I appreciate the input! Thanks everyone. I'm going to look into the suggestions and report back.

Focusrite 18i20 3rd gen. When I record a single track in stereo using a pair of interface inputs I get tracks as expected. If I record the same sources but individual tracks simultaneously, they have a digital zippy distortion on both tracks. If I record ONE of the tracks there's no distortion. If I record the same input to both tracks there's no distortion. It's very evident using a bass as the source for the tracks. What I've tried: Multiple Focusrite drivers. Multiple input pairs, and sources. Internal and external clocking on the interface. I'm not clipping anywhere. I'm a Sonar user for decades, so I don't think it's a newb mistake. I don't have another DAW to test. I've recorded individual tracks in this manner a zillion times before and never had this issue. Anyone else confirm? Thanks!

Late to the party, but my 700c is working ok with Sonar paid. My 700r died a few years back.

Workspaces are my entire workflow. I keep one for 'everything', one for busses, and one for each instrument and situation. Combining this with track-manager (also not in free) is how I lay out my projects. If I hadn't subscribed, I would be livid. Bummer for sure.

The 'headphones' is for input monitoring through the DAW. If you're playing an AXE 2, I suspect you don't want or need to monitor the DAW channel. When you record-enable the channel, your meters should now show input levels.

Recording V-Drum MIDI - Question about the MIDI NotesTroy Winemiller replied to Joel Pixton's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab apropos of nothing... I use a Focusrite scarlett 18i20 3rd gen and a Roland TD-10 (so I'm using crusty drum brain also) I found the Focusrite MIDI-in totally unstable with the drum brain and had to punt back to an old MidiSport to record the kit.

	Thanks!

I'm still using my VS-700 console. Does anyone remember how to get to channel branch mode? Does it still work? Thanks.

So I have a Scarlett 18i20 and an Axe-Fx 3 connected USB. I have the Axe I/O all disabled in the Drivers pane on pref. But on the Sync and Caching pane, the Axe device is the only thing I can select in the Record Latency Adjustment setting. Obviously if I disconnect/power off/disable drivers (Axe-Fx) in Windows...then the Latency Adjust goes to the Focusrite. I don't want to do that as it cripples my Axe-Edit app. Edit: the latency reporting is the same for both devices (328 samples) but it's still annoying. Any ideas on how to force that setting to the Focusrite when the Axe is still on?

edit track when automation is enabled?Troy Winemiller replied to Troy Winemiller's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab Thanks guys.

this is going to be dumb. I've been using cakewalk forever. When I automate a track (volume lets say) now the envelope shows on the track, and the clips on the track are grey and I cant slip edit them. I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. What is it?

VS700 Functionality with Cakewalk Bandlab in Win 10Troy Winemiller replied to Silvan7's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab Just Sharing... I spent the time (lots) going through the steps to make my beloved VS-700 c/r work in Win10. I had been working on Win7 since Sonar 8.5. I was having the Prochannel EQ crashes when trying to make the console knobs do stuff. But overall, once I installed X2 for the VS Utilities, it was mostly functional. Then my 700 rack USB section died. Won't connect, blah blah. Total loss. I will NEVER buy another Roland product. I picked up a FocusRite Scarlett1820. I know that's not the flagship, and it costs 1/8 what I spent on the VS rig. But it sounds better. And the control software is more versatile. I managed to get the VS console driver installed, and it mostly works. It still has it's quirks. But I'm dealing. I've decided that It's dumb to try to make the knobs drive the EQ anyway. Transport and faders and the common buttons are really what I want to work and they do. It's entirely maddening that Reaper will NOT see the console driver. I'm so engrained in the CW/Sonar way I guess I don't care since CW is actively improving. TL/DNR Scarlett is a better sounding interface. And the console is useable in Win10.

Jeez. I feel dumb. Thanks guys.
