Senheiser's Ambeo Orbit VST Crashes Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Strange's topic in Instruments & Effects
Sample rate issues aren't uncommon with a lot of VST plugins. I'm running at 48khz and it worked, but I bet you were running something higher like 96khz? -
Kontakt not playing imported/opened midi files
Matthew Sorrels replied to PcMacsterRace's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Put the CWP file on a file share (Dropbox/Google Drive/etc) and let us take a look at it. I have Shreddage 3 Jupiter. Strip the project down to just the problem would be best. -
audio plugin deals 71% Off Keepforest AizerX Bundle (Modern + SFX)
Matthew Sorrels replied to Audio Plugin Deals's topic in Deals
I have all the 8dio libraries in that bundle except for Clocks. They aren't all that bad but Aizerk does seem to have a more powerful UI. But it really is vastly overpriced. For $199 they should have included all 4 titles, not just these two. I have way too many trailer sound effect libraries now to add another one at this price. But if I had to pick between the two I think I'd go for the Aizerk package. 8dio's is really just a bunch of loops and their nice but not as powerful as Keep Forest's loop engine. I should also point out that you do need the full version of Kontakt for either choice. -
Kontakt not playing imported/opened midi files
Matthew Sorrels replied to PcMacsterRace's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
This sounds like the MIDI clip in question has control messages that are perhaps causing the Kontakt instrument to silence itself. Open the Event Viewer in CbB and see if there are things other than notes (delete them and then remove and reload the Kontakt instrument to reset it). You may also want to turn off the option in CbB for Zero Controllers When Play Stops (which is a project level option under Project->MIDI) sometimes when this is on CbB will send 0 controller messages for a lot of controls to the Kontakt instrument settings volumes and filters to 0, which kills the sounds. -
UVI Workstation won't work in Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Ellsworth Hall's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Not that it means much but I just uninstalled UVI Workstation 3.0.5 and installed 3.0.4 (I still had the installer). It works fine with BA2 in Cakewalk! I don't have any way to easily roll Cakewalk back to test 3.0.5 with previous Cakewalk. No clue who should really fix this, but clearly something in UVI changed, breaking these newer fancy instruments. Perhaps something in Cakewalk changed as well. -
UVI Workstation won't work in Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Ellsworth Hall's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Beatbox Anthology 2 seems to do this for me as well in Cakewalk but not in Cubase 10, reaper, Rapid Composer, and VSTHost. Does seem to be more of a Cakewalk problem at this point. I'm pretty sure this used to work though since when I got BA2 I used it in Cakewalk and certainly don't remember any problems. But that was several zillion updates to Cakewalk and UVI workstation ago. -
They also didn't let me stack the two codes on the same order. So I used my $50 but I haven't tried that $25 code. I believe your personal voucher comes in an email that subject is "Your XX Loyalty Voucher is Here!" and the $25 everyone gets it because we screwed up is in email that subject is "New $25 Loyalty Voucher for you!" with this text:
-
I got a $50 Loyalty Voucher (with a different code) on 10/2. Then on 10/3 they sent a "New $25 Loyalty Voucher" that one has the code you have above, I think they sent it to everyone.
-
They sent that code to everyone for an extra $25 voucher, I think. None of the things on sale add to a custom bundle discount nor are discounted by a custom bundle discount. So you can't add 8 $9.99 plugins and a full priced plugin and get 60%. They closed the bundle discount loophole.

Senheiser's Ambeo Orbit VST Crashes Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Strange's topic in Instruments & Effects
The only thing in your crash dump was Cakewalk and the plugin, nothing else. So no real clues there. And the running out of stack space crash is a very odd crash (something most likely overwrote memory). I'm not sure why it works on my workstation and not yours. I have a lot more ram than you do (128GB) but I'd think 16GB with Win 10 Home should be fine. I tried a few different ways and it never crashed on me with the current version of Cakewalk. Both the VST2 and VST3 versions. So no real help there. Good luck. -
Senheiser's Ambeo Orbit VST Crashes Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Strange's topic in Instruments & Effects
The changelog says for version 1.0.1 they updated the installer to install the Microsoft Visual 2017 Redistributable. It's possible there is some issue with that(The visual studio runtimes have lots of install issues). Are you running version 1.0.1 of the plugin? You could try installing the 2017 C runtime with the Microsoft installers. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads Looks like they are doing support on KvR, you might want to try posting there as well: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=294 -
Senheiser's Ambeo Orbit VST Crashes Cakewalk
Matthew Sorrels replied to Strange's topic in Instruments & Effects
Interesting free plugin https://en-us.sennheiser.com/ambeo-orbit It doesn't crash for me, but it has a fancy GUI which can mean you may need a better video driver (depending on your computer/hardware/OS). The crash dump is because "The thread used up its stack." Kind of odd. Normally apps set the size of their threads stack large enough there isn't a problem. It could have something to do with your project (another plugin your also using perhaps?). I made a new empty project, added a synth and added it to the audio output of the synth. The simplest thing pretty much. It did take a long time to open up though, which seemed a bit odd. But it did open. Does it crash on a mostly empty project (empty project, add audio track, add plugin)? You might need to contact Senheiser though since I suspect it's really more their problem than Cakewalk's. -
Sampletank 4 doesn't seem to support the popup keyswitch guide UI that Sampletank 3 had. Which kind of hurts Philharmonik a lot. So none of this: You can see the selected keyswitch in this view though, but it's not the same thing

It never worked on BBC orchestra. But did on the Solo, at least when I tried it last night.

Ozone 9 Released and Music Producition Suite 3
Matthew Sorrels replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
You can, but none of your old projects that use them will be able to reload their settings. O9 has a whole new plugin ID, so it doesn't replace (or upgrade) old Ozones (this has been true of every iZotope product I think). As a result I keep them all installed. They don't really take up that much space/etc. -
Ableton Live Production Mastery Course Bundle
Matthew Sorrels replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
His Music Theory for Electronic Musicians courses on Udemy are really good. The first release was a bit low quality video (it was moved to Udemy from some other service he published it with at first). He redid the entire course in HD and updated it for free on Udemy. I thought even the low-quality one was excellent, getting it redone was even better. His college level class Music Theory Comprehensive is also really good, but has way too many parts. I'm still plowing my way through it. Slowly, ever so slowly. If this Ableton class redeemed on Udemy I'd pick it up just because if I ever take up Ableton I'd want it. -
The 2.0 version seems less CPU destroying to me. Of course I'm running on a workstation that's a lot faster than the last time I checked Falcon's speed. To be fair UVI normal patches run in Falcon with low CPU. But with Falcon you get 2 expansions and the ones I picked, Ether Fields and Cinematic Shades, have a few patches that if you played big cords on them would destroy my old computer. I can still get Cinematic Shades Amino to get up around 50% if you hold down enough keys. ? Still doesn't seem to use multicores very much at all.

Steinberg offering 50% Off MAAT Digital Plugins
Matthew Sorrels replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
You can never have too many dongles. More dongles for everyone! See I even have more empty slots for even more dongles (and yes everything in that USB hub is a dongle, even the thumb drive is being used as a dongle) The MAAT guys and their magic EQ snake oil kind of bug me, but if you believe in magic maybe they are awesome? -
Error: [Play] createInstance IComponent
Matthew Sorrels replied to Guy Prentice's topic in Instruments & Effects
There isn't any rollback on Cakewalk anymore. You could do it by uninstalling and re-installing if you had the full installer for an older version (which I don't think have ever been made available as easy downloads). Have you tried rebooting your computer? Have you tried another DAW? You may want to update Windows as well, there have been a lot of Window Update patches lately. -
Never use the word "unlimited" and Falcon together. No CPU is ever fast enough for Falcon. Hope that's better in 2.0

Error: [Play] createInstance IComponent
Matthew Sorrels replied to Guy Prentice's topic in Instruments & Effects
Play is working for me with the latest update, but that error message I think is related to iLok, perhaps you should update/reinstall the iLok License Manager? -
I was able to get Riffer feeding into Obelisk feeding into a synth but it was very twitchy. Audio engine keep stopping due to the lag. Had to dial everything back a lot to make it not just halt. The trick is all the manual echo's on the MIDI tracks (see the image below) and using the In/Out on the tracks to feed everything from one synth to the next.
-
With Cakewalk you have to have a separate MIDI and sound channel for every one of the MIDI generative instruments your using, it doesn't work like Reaper. So to do what you are describing you'd have to have 3 audio tracks and 3 midi tracks, even though two of the audio tracks aren't used (Riffer and Obelisk). If you don't have the audio tracks the MIDI instruments won't work (they can't be headless). But you can hide them. Then you need to turn echo on all three MIDI tracks. You should be able to hide a few of those as well. So you only "see" the starting MIDI track (Riffer) and the resulting audio track (Synth). Or maybe you could stuff them into a group folder or something.

My phone got MOBILE19 as a code. I wonder if I have to place the order on a "device" to use it.

NI Orchestral Tools Sale is Back - Up to 63% Off [OVER]
Matthew Sorrels replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
Last night when I posted it it claimed it would end in 13 hours and 40 some odd minutes. But it didn't actually list a time/date for it to end, just a count down. Come to think of it I think the last few of these NKS sales appeared to end early too. The only thing I could find in email is the offer ends Oct 6, 2019. Perhaps the count down is incorrectly using the user's local time and not the server's time?
