Okay as you can tell I am first time posting so, here is something about me I returned from 6 years in prison November 2018. It took about 6 months to get a Pc and the rest of the needed gear to resume my passion for recording after a long pause. Much had changed ... I know you are thinking what does this biography have to do with the update. I needed to get started and went right through a list of DAWs that were the standard and the workflow was awkward so I finally saw the BandLab had revived Cake and I was surprised to choose a free DAW over the expensive paid options, in all the time since I have had only the most routine instabilities and I am very loyal to the good tools in Cake or now Sonar and the fact I used them for free for years, well I don't find fault or nit pick and I am 53 and been recording multitrack studio projects from 18 so I can usually find the problem if anything malfunctions and I am usually the culprit. I really don't know how to use the dump that is created during a crash or send it to Cake for troubleshooting but I cant keep Sonar running for more than 5 mouse clicks and it freezes. I was tracking & mixing Saturday and songwriting yesterday until late and as I was going to call it I did the update at that time as I was not doing any client work updated as usual reloaded drivers on this focus rite even though they have been the same for years and restarted my PC with no worry but ever after all night tonight I can if I am both patient and lucky Sonar wont crash before a project opens and I have only got the track to play once in many I mean more that 50 attempt. So, % plus years of rock solid stability, then this update and now total failure. I will be happy to send you anything you need from me if you see this chat and can help me find what to do next. I have been using this Daw every single day I do not want to change please advise.
