This comes from a thread on one of the CbB Facebook groups where a number of users were saying how much accidental scroll wheel interference when working in Cakewalk is driving them mad. It would be super useful to be able to disable mouse scroll wheel operation either DAW-wide or for specific views. My personal grind is with the console view, especially accidentally changing parameters either on the tracks (fader levels mostly) or in the Pro Channel. Would be awesome to look at this for a future update. I'd also be keen to know if this is something other users have been similarly plagued by. Cheers ??

? Yeah, I hear ya about the 'Beatz' thing. It was installed correctly according to the documentation...it's all a bit odd. All working fine now though. I'm generally of the opinion that life's too short to be figuring out why some plugins just don't interact well with the rest of your software unless a) they're crucial to your workflow and / or b) you paid for them. In this case, Beatskillz Beatfactory Drums is neither of those things!

Thanks man...I'll give that a go. UPDATE: So, yeah it seems plugins are/may be responsible. Narrowed it down to two possible offenders...Beatskillz Beatfactory Drums and Cymatics Diablo Lite. Hi folks, apols in advance if this isn't the right place for this question. I'm having a few problems with tracks in my mixes occasionally and seemingly randomly dipping in volume on playback. It doesn't discriminate either - it can happen on midi or audio tracks, and it's happening so randomly I can't put my finger on what's causing it. I can play the same section 5 times and it'll happen in different places on each occasion. Also it doesn't happen to all tracks in the mix, only some of them. It seems to occur more with drum and bass tracks so i've wondered if it might be phase issues, but it's not happening in the same place each time so I'm thinking if it was that, then it would. My PC is a high spec custom built audio workstation so there's plenty CPU and RAM to spare. Any help most gratefully received.

Thank you for your time and your feedback Bjorn. I don't disagree with any of it. Someone else here made a similar point about the lack of variation in the main 'riff' and I totally agree. In retrospect I could have spent more time looking at ways to bring more interest to those sections. Thank you again ?

It's funny how the build in this track is taken so differently by folks, but of course that's the beauty of personal taste - it's so varied. Another fabulous facet of Mother Nature ?

Thanks so much Dave. I certainly don't see what you're saying as nitpicking - I'm fully aware the best producers do exactly that, and they quite rightly call it 'attention to detail'. That's what this is all about isn't it - learning to be as good as you can be at it ?

You might find this hard to believe but as well as doing this studio project I play in an AC/DC tribute band so I definitely appreciate the place 3 minute rock songs have in this world ? Just so happens I'm really into electronica as well, plus a couple of other genres that I'd like to explore in future projects. I totally appreciate that the time it takes to build this track is not for everyone, but if you're setting out to make music for 'everyone' then hell mend you ?

I really debated hard with myself about the flutey sound because I'm not a huge fan of new age style world music and it kinda smells a bit too much like that for my liking ? but you know how it goes, you make these decisions and you either regret them or you don't. This problem with LABS appeared just yesterday in CbB for me too. Cakewalk crashes whenever I try to delete an instrument track that has LABS loaded into it. I even tried it in a blank Cakewalk file with nothing else but a LABS track loaded up and it did the same thing when I tried to delete the track. The instruments are playing, but there also seems to be some electrical interference-style glitching on some LABS presets. Also strange is that the Spitfire audio app that you use to allocate folder locations and everything else, says I don't have LABS installed. All the file paths are correct. Very strange. I'd update it if I could, but the Spitfire software tells me I don't have any products so... ?

Thanks for your comments Paul ? Opinion on the intro seems to be firmly split between thinking it builds really well and it takes too long! Perhaps oddly, I agree with you ? i think it's too long myself!
