  1. thanks for info Igorr I have found the problem. For some reason the driver had changed from wasapi(shared) to wasapi(exclusive). When I changed back to wasapi(shared) the problem went away and the latency went to 10ms. when I change to ASIO drivers the latency goes to 15.2 ms input and 18.2ms output.
  2. Cakewalk 2024.12 build 125 64bit. Yesterday I connected an audio track and switched on the input echo and immediately got full-on white noise on the track. I am using Steinberg UR22 version 1(Steinberg drivers, WASAPI at the moment). 4 days ago it was recording audio(line in on chaneels 1 and 2) fine. I tried the UR22 on audacity and it works fine. I tried the UR22 on another machine with audacity and it was fine. I have reloaded the steinberg drivers and it makes no difference. As soon as hit input echo the white noise comes and follows the volume slider. When I arm the track the monitor goes straight into the red but there is no output. It makes no difference if I have an instrument plugged into the UR22. 2 days ago I updated win 11 to 24H2. I’m wondering if this might have caused some side effects. Does anybody have any experience of this? At the mo I don’t have any alternative method for recording audio.
  3. ok...panic over. I found the answer in a thread in the sonar forum. The problem goes away if there is no workspace chosen.
  4. I updated to 2024-12 over the weekend and now all my projects open with the console docked. I use 2 screens with the console on the right hand screen but every time I open a project the console is minimised, docked and on the left hand screen. I amend all projects to open in multidock with the console undocked and on the right hand side and save. The next time I open the project the console is docked, minimised and on the left hand side. Anybody familiar with this? and able to offer a fix or suggestion.
  5. many thanks both I'm also mystified why I've never experienced this in the past....I have checked the zero crossing box and things are much cleaner. I will creep up on the complicated solution. thanks again.
  6. I've just migrated a project from sonar. I haven't used cakewalk in anger yet so this is fairly new to me. I've just noticed when I cut a portion of audio track and paste it into another track it produces a click at the start of the pasted selection. Expanding/magnifiying the offending wave does not show a spike and selecting the offending click area and setting the gain to zero does not remove the click. This procedure did not produce clicks in sonar.....is this something we have to put up with in bandlab or is there some way to prevent it.
  7. thanks guys the plug ins lists were very useful, although I obviously know whats in X2. It would seem that session drummer 3 is not in bandcamp. It looks like the current bunch of interfaces are all usb so I think I'll have to do some digging around for usb3 offerings that have latency like the layla 3g. I will get a new interface and continue with X2 for a while. I have never used anything in the last 8 years that has exposed any of the bugs so there is nothing urgent forcing an upgrade. thanks again.
  8. Hi....newby to bandlab I am making the transition from X2 and have been using cakewalk/sonar since the very beginning. I installed bandlab on my ageing win10 machine and it immediately messed about with some of my X2 settings so I uninstalled...I will redo the install shortly...In the meantime I have a couple of newby questions that I hope will move me forward. Is session drummer 3 in bandlab?..I have found loads of references to things like splat and command centre, but no simple answer. Is tts-1 in bandlab? my echo layla 3g has just failed in the area of midi latency...can anybody recommend a reasonably priced replacement that will equal the echo latency figures? the synth questions are not deal breakers but it would avoid me going back over 20+ years of projects in order to bounce midi tracks to audio before moving to bandlab....or retaining X2 for all the historic projects.
