been buying it for years and years.. won a competition for the cakewalk sonar 7 box and dim pro / rapture and factor 5? won waldolf largo a few years later after that. in more recent times, their use of "file silo" was really annoying / couldn't log onto it.. so yer a long time, sad to see it go. but understand times have changed and certain people feel entitled NOT to pay for reviews etc.

they offer the corel stuff a fair bit.. the corel installer are a total PITA.. and they try to get you NOT to make a backup copy.. then charge you later when you need to re-download it. it's nice enough BUT it's a case of , they don;t seem to be doing that much for their yearly upgrade... and their popups when you install their stuff are *REALLY* annoying

i have had the plugin for a fair long time, as their megadrive / genesis (not the group) synth... used a 950 and 900 30 years ago... is it the same? hhmm nope.. it's not bad. beatskillz also have their take on it samplex and the ax95 plugins.. which i'm more prone to use.. though d16, decimort a few well known folk use for that akai 12 bit crunchy sound etc. it is funny in a way , we have to use something to add dirt to sound .. ironic huh

i was replying to something else, but came across this.. be mindful STEINY isn't supporting vst2... so hopefully many will switch to vst3 Synth1 by Ichiro Toda is legendary status..there is like 25-30k+ of patches you can download also for it plugin boutique also carry some freebie vsts (not excluding the monthly giveaway when you buy) beat-de mag also have some nice stuff, but the mag is german and it's a bit of a "faff" . they do loads of sampler stuff for zampler TAL is a good site for freebies Valhalla also do a nice reverb free there are a few sound generators e.g. for dx7 that you can import the sysex into e.g. https://www.thisdx7cartdoesnotexist.com/ maybe you know this already.. but on the off chance ya don't.

sadly no joy... and the old links to rapure on cakewalks old site are dead links the command centre links to "rapture sessions" which I am not wanting. and the new version is as much help as a chocolate teapot can cakewalk / bandlab or whatever they are called this week .. just upload a set of files without the d!king about like other vendors do. the dvd boxset i have of both dp and rapture only contain 32 bit , tried em.. IRC computer music gave away rapture on a cover disk.. but i'm really not in the mood for crate digging. considering I helped with muz3um (for free) ... it's really annoying.. you have servers.. and not utilised.. or over complicated i switched from sonar, it just really was over engineered vs many other stuff I used .. real shame that (and yer i'v been making music from ST days on cubase / clab)

various investment groups have bought out various pro audio software companies , for a number of reasons including access to their source code + IP etc. some companies sadly are buying up pro audio companies for asset stripping, that's how it comes across. sadly because of how the original cakewalk / propellerheads / camel audio / emagic aren't the same companies or have done things i find *OFF* .e.g. making a pc product mac only .. or offering "life time membership" as the ship was sinking .. i lost trust in many companies it's a big subject. but i'll go back to the original days of the akai sampler.. s900 etc was designed by people who knew music as well as electronics.. the later and "not so good" samplers were buggy and not as good , done by programmers who obviously wasn't so clued up about the music side
