Byron Dickens
There's only about 552, 000 GM sound sets out there. Find one that works and be done with it.

I've got a real hardware Roland JV-1080 rack synth with an excellent GM set, but I'm too lazy to hook it up nowadays... Whenever I need to open a GM file, I just rely on TTS-1 to get me started, then I replace all the tracks with modern samplers like SampleTank or Kontakt, and then delete TTS-1 from the project. 😁
chris.r
Same here. TTS-1 is invaluable for dirty quick sketches. It is a little buggy though so I avoid using it in final projects.

Works flawlessly and sounds great.

Yep, it seems that Korg tried to keep it pure with their virtual versions. I have several old Roland romplers, including the JV-1080, but It seems that Roland has possibly not been faithful to the originals. I have tried to follow a long and confusing thread on the topic over at KVR, but I'm still not sure what you get with Roland cloud. Some have claimed that the JV-1080 and the XV-5080 virtual versions share the exact same emulations... WTH?
