There's only about 552, 000 GM sound sets out there. Find one that works and be done with it.

I've got a real hardware Roland JV-1080 rack synth with an excellent GM set, but I'm too lazy to hook it up nowadays...

Whenever I need to open a GM file, I just rely on TTS-1 to get me started, then I replace all the tracks with modern samplers like SampleTank or Kontakt, and then delete TTS-1 from the project. 😁

Yeah, I love having that Korg collection and easily loading up the M1 VST with my old Programs and Combis using sysex data stored in Cakewalk.  Works flawlessly and sounds great.

Yep, it seems that Korg tried to keep it pure with their virtual versions.

I have several old Roland romplers, including the JV-1080, but It seems that Roland has possibly not been faithful to the originals. I have tried to follow a long and confusing thread on  the topic over at KVR, but I'm still not sure what you get with Roland cloud.

Some have claimed that the JV-1080 and the XV-5080 virtual versions share the exact same emulations... WTH?
