How to change the Pitch Bend Range?

Recommended Posts

I checked the Soft Synth software and supposedly it is supported.

Is this the right way to do it?

Thanks for the response and link.

I swapped the order and it still didn't work.

I tried using TTS-1 and that didn't respond either.    I want to bend it (the note) like Beckham!

Someone from the soft synth site sent me a midi file with an octave pitch bend range and it worked.

Here is what it looks like in the event window:

My updated question is...how/where do I insert the "Pitch Bend Sensitivity" event?

It is not listed in the Event Manager:

Enter an RPN Kind of event, and change the Data value to 0. When you save the change, it will end up reading as Pitch Bend Sensitivity. Cakewalk does this with other commonly used control events like CC64 which presents as '64-Pedal (sustain)' for ease of recognition.

Depending on the soft synth.  I use a hardware XG synth and all I need to send is RPN 0 and 128 x the number of semitones required as the value.

Therefore if I want to set the pitch bend range to 12 semitones, the value would be 128 x 12 which is 1536

I enter RPN 0    1536

As RPNs are a combination of CC events, for the above they are CONTROL, not RPN

FYI:  (To others who may find this thread) TTS-1 and VitualMidiSynth both work with those RPNs and values.
