Midi effects dont work

I recently installed cakewalk. I turned it on and started playing, after some time I wanted a fixed velocity and discovered a midi effect called "Velocity" . Then I wanted to run it by dragging it on FX rack and it don't worked. I'm sending a screenshot of the error that appears when the effect is started.

Yeah, same. That's odd - it sounds like something was blocked during the install.

Try disabling any antivirus software and try to reinstall and see if that helps.

I tried that and it still doesn't work.

Yeah, super weird. Do all of the other MIDI FX work or are they all broken?

A couple of other questions:

Did you install to the default location the installer suggested?

Is your drive compressed at all?

All of MIDI FX are broken.

I installed cakewalk to the default location.

My drive is not compressed.

I wonder if this is a Windows permissions thing? I've never come across this myself over all the time I've ever user any version of Cakewalk / SONAR, etc.

OK, try this then:

Close Cakewalk.

Go to Start and type CMD and run it as Administrator.

In the Command Prompt window, copy and paste this and press enter:

CD C:\Program Files\cakewalk\Shared MIDI Plugins

Then copy these one by one and press enter after each:

regsvr32 Arpeggiator.dll

regsvr32 ChordAnalyzer.dll

regsvr32 EchoDelay.dll

regsvr32 EventFilter.dll

regsvr32 Quantize.dll

regsvr32 Transpose.dll

regsvr32 Velocity.dll

What this is doing is manually registering them with Windows. If you didn't get any errors doing this, great - start Cakewalk and see if they work then.

If not, it's possible you may need to update your Microsoft Redistributables:

I tried updating Microsoft Redistributables and typing these commands in CMD, but it still doesn't work.

If you try dragging a MIDI FX onto a synth rack track, it gets blocked ("no entry" cursor).

Yes, you cannot drag and drop MIDI FX onto the track pane (track header) that contains FX bin (you will see "no entry" cursor), however, you can drag and drop it into the clips pane.
In this case, you can see the error message the OP uploaded when clicking that inserted MIDI FX.

Does it give any errors when you run regsvr32 ?

No it doesn't give any errors. It gives The DIIRegisterServer function in Arpeggiator.dll succeeded.

I'm dragging and dropping it into clips pane.

Did you drag and drop it to the clips pane of the inserted synth track (SI-Bass Guitar 1) ?
If so, it's a wrong procedure. For MIDI FX to work, they must be inserted on MIDI tracks, not synth tracks.
