Command Center Download issue

Recommended Posts

I'm re doing a laptop I have as a second DAW and as part of  this I need to install Cakewalk Command Center to install Splat and the goodies. The download seems to be screwed up. I tried on  2 computers and using both Chrome and Edge. Chrome just sits there going round and round, Edge gives me this warning .  I found a thread where people were having same issue. And I see now it would have been smart to have this all backed up. But alas, I didn't, I sure as heck will once I get this working. Is that old server dieing?

Yes That must be it as I never can see the pictures in the documentation. It's been like that for a long time. I can only see them on my phone.

I added Cakewalk com to the list in chrome as advised by someone here but that never worked either.

It's OK because I have a freind who uses Cakewalk and he had the Command Center still in his downloads folder so It's all working now.

Thank you @Jonathan Sasor     It would be nice if you could sort out why your web site is un secure by both Edge and Chrome and on all 3 of my computers that all use more or less default settings. And while trying to sort this out I eneded up in old Cakewalk land where there are a lot of very obsollete pages and dead links. Someone really needs to delete all those as they must be frustrating to people who are trying to locate the new version.

I can use the website from all the browsers on my PC without any warnings or errors being displayed. Not sure that it’s a Cakewalk issue or something they need to fix.
As a precaution, lest the worst happen, I’ve backed up all my account data including Activation codes and Serial numbers etc  to an interactive pdf document

I  used Command Centre to  download all the files and have them backed up.  While Bandlab have committed to maintain  that whole system, and I sure appreciate their effort and commitment in keeping that promise, things can change so I’ve taken the above precautions.

The old Cakewalk site is archived and it no longer receives any updates. If people remove data (external to the site) that was linked to a page there’s little that Cakewalk can do about it now being a dead link.

As an example, there were many posts (going back decades) where I would link a picture or a document of some sort. It’s quite likely that the files I linked are no longer in the same location hence breaking the link to the post.

I think it’s unreasonable that a team which provides a free DAW of Cakewalk by Bandlab’s quality, devote resources to maintaining an out of date site for out of date software (Sonar). The fact is that Cakewalk by Bandlab is far superior to the last Sonar program that existed prior to Bandlab’s purchase of the Cakewalk/Sonar intellectual property from Gibson.

I still have Sonar Platinum and X2 installed for V-Vocal and reference and make full use of all the plugins and extras that were part of various releases going back to Sonar 3 Producer when needed but no longer use any Sonar version for producing any music.

Yes I agree and from reading some old threads on the topic I see that I neglected to save that one item the Command center. I actually have backups of most of my Cakewalk software on an older external drive. And it's OLD!  I also found a few serial numbers but it was all incompleted and only half arsed orginized.  Now I have the Command center and full access again it's a matter of taking some time to do this and back it all up to a dozen places.

Just an FYI on the pictures when viewing Cakewalk Online Documentation (and I'll create a new post as well to hopefully help others).

What I've found is that if you just remove the "s" from the https URL the pictures will appear (as it will link to the non-secure URL). I've not had to make any adjustments to my browser (mine is Edge) - it just works.

Example:

Many times I'll Google something about Cakewalk and get the https link, like this:
https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ProChannel.01.html
That link will have blank pictures.

Just remove the "s" from https:
http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ProChannel.01.html

You will now see the pictures.
