How to cut and

Krishna Ramsundar

Question

How do I cut a piece of track out w/o leaving a gap? I want to cut a piece out and have the track shorten so I can align it properly.

Here's what I mean: In audacity, I highlight just enough of the un-synced track to line it up with the others. Then I delete the highlighted portion and it shifts back however much I deleted it and boom, it's synced. In cake walk, it just deletes whatever I highlighted and it leaves a gap there.

Thanks

Ripple Edit will delete the hole, shifting everything along to close the gap.

Use Ripple Edit selection to only affect the current / selected clips, or Ripple Edit All to affect all tracks.

Remember to switch it off afterwards though!

It worked! Much appreciated! Just got this software a few days ago and it's my first DAW  so I have to learn the features and stuff.
