Vanishing Recordings

I'm a newby to Cakewalk.  I have connected my Roland RD-88 to my computer, and set up my MIDI so Cakewalk accepts the input and output.  I record, and can see the notes and velocities entered on the Cakewalk piano roll, but when I hit stop, pause, or spacebar the notes all disappear. Can you tell me where they might be hiding? Is there some setting I need to change?

Two possibilities:

1. You have inadvertently enabled punch-recording of a range later in the project.

2. CbB will show "confidence recording" of events arriving on other ports/channels than the one you've assigned as Input to the track so make sure the Input assignment is matching your controller. I consider this a bug.

CORRECTION: The first possibility won't be applicable in this case; it will prevent recording, but you won't see "confidence recording" events until you get to the punch region. I'm pretty sure #2 is your issue.
