Unsolicited email - scam?

I received an email this morning asking me to submit my music for licensing opportunities in films.

The email did not address directly me, just 'Greetings'. 

It asks me to send my music for consideration in films and TV projects.

Has anyone else ever received unsolicited emails of this type?  Can it be trusted?

Spam/Scam probably;

Once upon a time I sent someone some scratch tracks for demo with the spoken phrase (in a sexy female voice) "FOR REFERENCE ONLY" set in the track every 10 seconds loud enough in the mix that it would be completely unusable in a commercial situation.

They responded, but refused to pay my book rate, so I blew them off.

Do ursidae consider forested areas as a suitable location in which to deposit fecal matter ?

Good idea. I'll give that a shot and report back.
