NI FM8 for $12

Check out the soft synths that Tangerine Dream was using live on stage in this 2007 show.

One of them is FM7. There are also a few other synths that you may recognize on the large monitors. :)

Even though its a *.dll plug-in, it looks like there are about 600-800 parameters exposed.  I just tested a handful in Voltage Modular with CVs and the ones I tried work. Although some are just switches, it looks like many provide for fluid control of parameter values. I suspect that many parameters change the sound at trigger time (as opposed to real time), but there seems to be a whole lot of sound shaping options. Even with the "vintage" look and functionality, this appeals to the sound sculptor in me.  Thanks, @Frank for posting this.  🙂

Wow, that's an amazing price. The listing on PIB mentions Big Sur but nothing past that. Can't find any information about M1 compatibility (current or planned) - anyone tried with a newer Mac?

Hm. I've had this as part of Komplete 13 but never paid any attention to it.  Maybe I'll check it out, because of this thread.

The only plugin that is M1 Native is Kontakt.  I know FM8 isn't listed explicitly.  But everything else seems to work under Rosetta.

I was able to start it up as an AU in Big Sur in Studio One running in native mode and make some noise.  Beyond that, I don't know since I'm not a user of this synth.
