Carlos Iglesias 289 Posted May 23 Asking 299 euros for an update seems obscene to me and I don't care if they give all that software that I don't need.
Larry Shelby 25,391 Posted May 23 What's even worse is that they don't even give you the current version of Sound Forge Pro... It's always the previous version before the current version so that they can get your upgrade money for that too....they hope...
telecode 101 1,368 Posted May 23 I have seen big sales on this before. Wasn't it $99 at one point? Samplitude is one of those DAWs I need to check out. It is used exclusively by some people I follow.

While the interface is still pretty "old hat" it's still a real powerhouse - more so than people really think about.
Bapu 4,868 Posted May 23 This will not get an "installed" from me. I pretty much abandoned this DAW at Pro X5.
Esteban Villanova 333 Posted May 23 That seems like a Reaper point release 😂

InstrEd 3,831 Posted May 23 I thought I might go with it when Sonar was stopped as my future daw. Liked it and yes it is extremely powerful. But when CbB became a reality I stopped upgrades of it. I think if you're heavy on the audio side it is great. The MIDI side was lacking IMHO.

It is very powerful, but not worth the money even with the add-ons. I could never jive with the workflow, and I wasn't having any fun using it.
Esteban Villanova 333 Posted May 23 The interface does look nice!
Larry Shelby 25,391 Posted May 23 It's definitely a steep learning curve coming from other DAW's.
Brian Cadoret 78 Posted May 24 To me Samplitude has that old (in a good way) analogue look and feel to it. And yes it is a very powerful audio workhorse not much that can't be achieved. I like the fact that audio and midi can share the same track. Their price upgrade point is the only issue I have and again I don't need all the extras.
Esteban Villanova 333 Posted May 24 The MIDI features look pretty nice to me, it's not Cubase but not bad either.
InstrEd 3,831 Posted May 24 I didn't mean it in a bad way about the MIDI and Magix has improved it the last few versions. It is a solid DAW. Price though is too much for me now.

You can do that in Reaper, as well as put Video on the same track, but I've never seen the point, since you basically have unlimited tracks. Maybe I'm missing something.
