Universal Audio Announces Hitsville EQ Collection

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • May 17, 2022 — Universal Audio Inc. (UA), a worldwide leader in audio production tools including the popular Apollo and Volt audio interfaces, UAD plug-ins, UA microphones, and UAFX and OX guitar products, is proud to introduce UAD software v10.1, featuring the Hitsville EQ Collection.

Officially licensed by the legendary Hitsville U.S.A. studio, and available exclusively for the UAD Spark plug‑in subscription service and Apollo interfaces, the Hitsville EQ Collection brings authentic emulations of the graphic EQ and rare mid/side disk mastering EQ that shaped the sound of Motown’s greatest artists.

Hitsville EQ Collection –$299

Universal Audio’s Hitsville EQ Collection was developed in an exclusive partnership with the Motown Museum at Detroit’s legendary Hitsville, USA.

Hitsville USA, the original house‑converted recording studio that helped launch Motown as one of the world's most successful independent music labels, is associated with artists from Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder to Diana Ross, The Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, and many more.

Famous for their rich, energized sound, Motown recordings relied on EQs developed in-house and purpose built for Hitsville’s around-the-clock recording schedule. As authentic emulations, the Hitsville EQ Collection allows users to harness the same equalizers that shaped countless Motown hits.

“You can’t overstate Motown’s contribution to the trajectory of modern music,” says Bill Putnam Jr., CEO of Universal Audio. “We’re thrilled to bring the legacy of Hitsville USA and the Motown sound to the next generation of creators.”

Featuring the all‑purpose graphic EQ alongside the first‑ever emulation of Hitsville’s rare mid/side disk mastering EQ, with legendary "Motown Filters" and half‑speed frequency settings, the Hitsville EQ Collection packages the vintage sound of Motown’s most revered studio tools for Apollo and UAD Spark customers.

Only after UAD goes forever $29.99.  😉

Sheesh it's $299. And the MO-EQ was/is $79 (it's installed).

I feel that the spark thing points to the fact that onle few people will pay 300$ at UAD for what you can get at PA for 30.

Disclaimer. Happy UAD user

Does "for Spark and Apollo" mean that UAD aren't making new plugs for satellite owners?

It's annoying enough that they don't give two hoots about Windows users, without Windows satellite users being doubly shafted!

I think all UAD plugins run on all thier stuff. I have an Apollo, a Satellite,  and a PCIe card and all my UAD pkugins work on all of them.

The only plugins that are "exclusive " are the ones for Luna.

I think what they mean by "For Apollo users" is the Apollo's ability to use the plugins in the Unison tech slot of the Apollo.
