Loosing plugin instrument assignment

Recommended Posts

Hello,

When I forget to connect my external hard drive before opening a Cakewalk project, the plugin instrument assignment is lost.

For example, I find my Instrument track with Empty for my sforzando plug-in.

Is there a way to overcome this behavior (because choosing an instrument takes time and if you have to start over...) ?

DAWs are designed to work in an environment where all the critical components are available all the time.

Installing part of the DAW on an external drive is an incredibly bad idea.

If there is not enough space to have the DAW and all of the supporting files on hardware that is always available, expect problems.

Thanks for your reply.

Indeed if no backup is made, the instrument plugin is not lost.

The problem is that we don't necessarily realize the problem right away, and we can work on and save the project before realizing it.

A Warning when opening the project and loading the plug-ins would be welcome.

Best regards

@RiccoboniHey, we are just users here, not Cakewalk staff! You may want to drop your suggestion over at the Feedback Loop where it can be seen by the Cakewalk developers. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/8-feedback-loop/
