Question

I just recently downloaded Cakewalk and as soon as I open the app, this message comes up. Does anyone know what this means? I've heard great things about Cakewalk and right now it's giving me this problem. Another issue is that whenever I open Cakewalk, all my other windows are muted. My YouTube doesn't even play. I would have to close the app first for everything to work again. Super lost and need help, please!

Hi xouvang and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

Have you created a crash dump file?

As for all other apps being muted, you can change your driver mode to WASAPI Shared (under Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording > Driver Mode, see below).

How would I be able to create a dump file? Would I have to click yes for that error message? I've also downloaded ASIO for my Audio Interface. Would that have any affect if I change it to WASAPI Share?

Hi xouvang,

Yes, just click on the Yes button and it will create a crash dump file for you.  You can retrieve the dump file at: C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\MiniDumps.

Kind regards,
