I finally received the emails: the order confirmation, with the activation codes, and the invoice. But the Steinberg site still puzzles me.

In the page I saved immediately after completing the purchase there's a button that links to a different login page in the shop than the normal:

https://shop.steinberg.net/c/shop?mode=depot

And after logging in I access a page with the activation codes and links to download the items I just bought (I also got the Padshop Pro upgrade).

The problem is: I could not find a link to this login page anywhere in the site. Had I ignored that button I'd never know about it.

OK... no big deal. I'd had access to this items by other means. But this just don't make sense IMO.

Wouldn't be better to have a page in my account with my purchases (registered/activated or not) with the codes and download links like (almost) everyone else?

Account Login is under the MySteinberg Tab on the Steinberg Site...
https://www.steinberg.net/en/mysteinberg/my_products.html

When I purchased Cubase 7 directly from Steinberg my product
was automatically registered in my account.  Maybe they changed
something, but I'd never chance it.  I'd buy 3rd party, which is cheaper
and pin the email with the serial # until time to register.  That's just a
much safer way IMO...

They must have changed indeed. This is what I have in MySteinberg right now, even after my recent purchases:

Hi. Perhaps check this tool out to remove nonfunctional NI software?

It makes it possible to reinstall products afterward.

I had to do that with Reaktor 6 (Player version).

https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002853669-Solving-problems-regarding-updating-uninstall-reinstall-NI-products-Windows-en-us-

All the best.

Sorry to hijack the thread again, but wanted to say thanks. Kontakt 5 eventually started misbehaving in all my DAWs.  I used the uninstall tool and reinstalled and now it works like a charm. I hadn't known about the tool before your post, so thanks very much for getting me sorted!

I picked up a copy from the link below. Looks like it's the boxed version as it's actually shipping out, so even with shipping costs it may be the cheapest way to go if you (like me) are also needing an e-licenser.

I'm actually getting pretty stoked about Cubase from the vids/tutorials I've watched. The workflow seems extremely similar to what I was used to in SONAR. I just never got the hang of the S1 workflow, even though it was supposedly designed to be more fluid and responsive.

Can anyone recommend any Cubase Tutorial videos? I am OK with the basics from using Cubase Elements.

I am trying to avoid any that just run through all of the features without actually showing how to use them in real world examples.

I notice Groove3 and Udemy have a few but some are for older versions of Cubase, which is not necessarily a bad thing if the content is still relevant.
e.g.

https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Cubase-10-Explained

https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/First-Song-with-Cubase (currently half price at $17.50 to own)

https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Cubase-Chord-Track-Explained

https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Cubase-10-Editing-Audio-Explained

and https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Padshop-and-Padshop-Pro-Explained for PadShop

Udemy has this very basic but FREE course...  https://www.udemy.com/from-cubase-to-cupro-getting-started-on-cubase-10/

plus a whole lot of other Cubase courses...

https://www.udemy.com/courses/search/?src=ukw&q=cubase&sort=price-low-to-high

None seem to be on offer so it's probably worth waiting a couple of days for their next "sale"!

I have all the Groove 3 courses you list here.  Pretty decent.  They just had a "Cubase" sale a week or two ago where everything was half priced.

I have this as well - much more in depth.

https://streamworksaudio.com/tutorials/swa-complete-cubase-pro-10/?fueid=18608&qid=27162

6 Hours worth of instruction.   It's 35% off right now (until 5/31) with Code ELFF-6KRH-DHHE

Ask Video (which is also the same content as MacProVideo , SOS Tutorials and most likely a few others due to NonLinear Educating Inc. syndication ) has a handful of newer Cubase 10 videos (made by Matthew Hepworth).  I've watched two of them (I have a year SOS Tutorials sub) they are decent but if your goal is learning all of Cubase each of them is pretty narrow (I'm sure they want you to buy a subscription).  They have coverage of older Cubase too, but a lot of it has changed so much I'm not sure how useful it is.  The courses on scoring and scoring to picture even though done with Cubase 8 seem useful.  To be honest I've gotten more out of Steinberg's YouTube videos than any of the online courses I've watched so far.

Thanks husker and Matthew.

I like the look of that Streamworks Audio course and it works out at around 26 GBP with the current discount so a definite contender.
I will also probably get the Groove3 one on offer and wait for the others.

I will also check out the Ask Video and SOS Tutorials although I don't have a sub for SOS magazine.

I have subscribed to the Steinberg YouTube channel so maybe I should work my way through their content before spending too much money on paid for tutorials.

The MPV are quite detailed. I watched the one on the interface.  Next up is the midi editing.

Still waiting on bestervice to receive serial #s.  They acknowledged my proof of Platinum ownership.

Sweetwater is to send out VSL key this week (out of Steinny keys until July).

I may hold off on registering until V11 comes out for the potential "buy 10 and get 11 free promotion".

Got my boxed copy of the Pro 10 Crossgrade yesterday!! Shipped from the UK in 4 days...how 'bout that?

I can confirm it did come with an e-licenser so this was definitely the route to go for me. I'm loving the feel of Cubase so far. Seems to merge the best of Sonar & S1 together.

Hey that's pretty cool.

Slightly annoying for me though as they are my local store in the UK (25 minutes drive) and when I emailed them to ask whether the crossgrade was a boxed version with e-licenser they said...

Thank you for your email.

Typically this would come on a card with a download code and serial key as typically we no longer sell versions with USB e-licenser keys.

This is something typically being phased out by our suppliers.

Kind regards,

Did you have to pay Local Import Duties or VAT?   The shipping cost would be about $10 for me - is that what it was for you?

Let us know when you get it.  I cancelled mine from BS and went with Sweetwater.

I also paid at BS a few days ago and I am waiting, too.

I haven't sent any crossgrade proof yet as I thought they would later ask me to send it in another email. But I haven't received anything other than system message so far.

I am not going to use cubase anytime soon because I don't have e-licenser. And also possibly I could wait for the next version.
