Win 11 safety back up

Recommended Posts

I know how to back up my old win 7 machine which which is heading into retirement.

the new machine is win 11.  Do I need a program to make an back up installation or will windows 11 update with new programs natively?

I don’t mind spending money on a third party software if needed, although I’ve done fine without them up til now.

Use the free (and popular) Macrium Reflect to disc image (backup) the entire drive - all partitions, to a separate drive.

I assume this is what you are referring to.

You mean your new PC is Windows 11 "compatible"?  Other than the Windows Insider beta releases, there are no other (official) Windows 11.  The "final" version  is slated for release later this year.    If you bought a new PC with Windows 11 installed its a fake.

win11 is not officially released yet, so you're using a preview? beware of win changes before the final w11 release

/good luck

Yes, new PC's are Win 11 ready.

Microsoft's published requirements (for Intel CPU) is 8th Gen and newer plus TPM 2.0.   Not sure on an AMD CPU.
