Help - Mistakenly Deleted VST3 Folder

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I need help, I've mistakenly deleted my VST3 folder ( C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3) and lost all the .vst3 files. it's can't be recovered since I'm using Geek Uninstaller and it was happened when I was uninstalled one new free plugin (Excite Snare Drum).

What I need is the original Cakewalk file in that VST3 folder since just by added the all that file, it will be fixing what I've lost.

I'm not sure what Cakewalk's .vst3 file in my VST3 folder but I've installed the add-on (Studio Instrument Suite, Drum Replacer and Melodyne) so I guess only needed those 3 files if there're available in vst3.

Thanks in advance.

hello again. Could you expound on that a little or put a url? Very interested.

Being a production machine I run regular backups.

The default location on your hard drive for your VST3 plugins is “C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3”

Most backup programs allow you to select which folders you would like to include.  To prevent data loss of your VST3 plugin files, it would be good to include this folder.  Actually, I do a weekly backup that is pretty much the entire C:\ drive.

If you have one, your IT specialist should really be on top of all of this.

This is why I include the C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 folder in a regular backup regime.

This is why I don't use 3rd-party "smart" installer/uninstallers. If this had happened on my system, I have many hundreds of plug-ins in that folder that would need to be reinstalled.
