The first track certainly has some whoomph in the bottom end.  Did they double your bass with a sub bass synth?

What have you been told about not panning bass eh eh  eh?

In answer to the opening question, does anyone know why?

This was back in the mp3.com days, chick’n.MO of Luxus posted that he was looking for musicians to do a collab project so I responded.

The early days of digital recording I’m guessing it was done on DAT.

The first track with the panning bass (by Marcus Miller) & groove were from Spectrasonics very first release called ‘Bass Legends’.
