And then there is the great unknowns. The big mad rush towards the end when everyone see how many freebies they are actually getting. And then also the unknown of will IKM extend it to end of September. Lots of time people. Just keep looking and posting for good deals on something in the $199 tier. One cool thing you can do with it is load it up, and look at what the chain and presets look like for different styles and then replicate that with other plugins if you want a different sort of color to it. Thats the great thing about the modern era.. you can steal other peoples ideas and style.. There was a jazz trumpeter a long time ago.. he refused to record and would cover his fingers with a napkin when he played live because he was too afraid others would steal his ideas and style.. and he would get no more work.. 🙂 FWIW.. I got in on the GB with the $15 B&H tapes deal and am hoping to fill up on the rest of the Tracks stuff I don't own. Mostly EQs, compressors e.t.c. Now that I have figured out how to use Tracks properly (basically drive the inputs and control gain) , I think they give pretty good results for what they are. Basically, I am making demos at home and it will never be studio quality stuff. Any songs that do seem to pickup steam, we move the work to a real studio and engineer who has the gear and space. Seems to work well so far. But the IKM stuff is great for playing around with. I am not a real engineer and mostly musician.. so for me its lots of fun playing around with this stuff virtually. I like the MixBox better than T-RackS, as you can quickly slap an FX chain on any track as you are getting creative as a musician, and tweak that. I'm not an engineer, so T-RackS takes a bit more patience and planning... probably much more useful for mixdown and mastering... And for some reason, anything that I run through Lurssen sounds better coming out of the other end (says the non-engineer)! That Hammond sure sounds authentic (created in close collaboration with both the Hammond Organ Company, of Chicago, Illinois, and Suzuki Musical Instruments Mfg. of Hamamatsu, Japan)!
