Depends

I should have read my own post before leaving thread LOL

I mean if I'm going with the lowest price Home Studio versus highest price Studio 9.. just feature-wise roughly, cause I'm not familiar with Mixcraft

I hear so many good things about Cherry Audio

I'm really liking my Juno from Cherry Audio. I realize it probably could be beaten by the ones from Roland Cloud or the recent release from Softube if someone is looking for closest emulation, but that doesn't bother me at all cause I didn't spend the whole $150 on it and don't feel like it sounds 5 times worse than the others. Actually to me personally it does sound more like a hardware synth than software. Money well spent.

What do I loose if going with Mixcraft Home studio? thx

Here's the previous Humble Bundle with the same versions of Mixcraft.  You can read the discussion that hopefully answers your question.

I picked up the previous Humble Bundle which came with a bunch of loop libraries.  I haven't figured out how to make use of them.  Any pointers to how to get started?

Also, I have access to loop libraries included with my Computer Music subscription which up to now I've pretty much ignored, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out.

Using them inside a sampler might be one thing ( https://www.tx16wx.com FREE )

Drum loops used inside CW looped ( repeated ) on an Audio Track.

The other approach is get the 30 day trial of Loopcloud ( https://www.loupcloud.com ) which gives you a very nice 8 track sample app you can link in / sync with Cakewalk via loopcloud plugin. You can use your own samples inside this. After the 30 days dont subscribe, as far as I know you get to keep the software working + you get a load of free samples ( GBs worth ). Check out the loopcloud youtube channel on how all this works - https://www.youtube.com/user/loopmasters

Mixcraft 9 Recording Studio is basically the v9 version of Mixcraft 8 Home Studio... not to be confused with Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio which is their full version (which ISN'T in the bundle).

Actually, Mixcraft Home Studio is limited to 16 tracks.

The difference between Recording Studio and Pro Studio is similar to the difference between SONAR Professional and SONAR Platinum: same program but the higher end one comes with more bundled software, including licenses for Melodyne Essentials and Pianissimo.

A couple of times a year they have big discounts on upgrade licenses, so a Home Studio license for a buck ain't a bad thing to have kicking around either.

Mixcraft is a really nice program, anyone familiar with Cakewalk will have an easy time jumping right in. It's frugal with resources, and it's very stable. I was active on their beta team for a few years and it was pretty hard to find defects.

I'm looking more for a tutorial of how to use the loops, creatively/musically.  Thx for the loopmasters youtube channel.  I'll check that out.

Hi there, I'm part owner of Soundtrack Loops. We used to be Peace Love Productions back in the day. Been in the loop biz since late 90s when I worked at Sonic Foundry. With that said, here is a short video we had published showing you how you can mix our loops in Mixcraft to make new music beds. We're also giving the song template away with the loops from it for free if you want let me know! Here's the video

You can download the template here https://soundtrackloops.com/soundtrack-loops-fanatical-sound-bundle/

Cherry Audio is awesome. And I am a fan of Humble Bundle.

Picking up Voltage Modular Ignite for $30 is a great deal!

You can still get Voltage Modular Nucleus for free, but Ignite offers more! Retails for $50. But if you are going there, you'll probably want Core for $99. 😁

Comparison: https://cherryaudio.com/voltage-modular/support/module-comparison
