weird audio issue

I have a few audio tracks recorded.   I even made sure the timing was correct by going into audio timing (alt+A) and fine-tuning it.    But sometimes when I play it back, the audio timing is off on a track or two.   Then I'll stop it and then play it back again, and it's fine.    Then it will do it again later.    And when I stop and then play it back, it's fine again.

could it be a plugin?

I don't have any plugins on those tracks - unless a plugin on another track is messing things up.   But they're plugins I've used all along and never had issues with.   But you never know.    I'll check and see.
