[Solved]Got Fooled Again - Waves v12 plugin vs. win8.1

Yeah, my fault. But trying to see if I can find a way...

I bought the waves puigchild 670 without thinking. No returns on software.

v12 plugins require win10 and I’m trapped at win8.1

so, I forced the install but it doesn’t appear after a vst scan so I searched for the plugins, found them and copied the dll to my vstplugins folder. Still no luck.

Does anyone know of anything I’m missing or some trick, I would love to know. Thankfully, not a huge amount of cash to throw away, but.........

Can you run the older pre-v12, Windows 8.1 compatible version?

V10 looks like it runs on 8.1:

Thanks again Matthew!

That solved the problem very nicely. V10 is up and running fine and I'll never know what v12 has that I'm missing. It preforms as I expect just the way it is!

Hi Keni,

I also use Windows 8.1 and on my system I found out that waves v12 Plugins are not found, when you use the most recent Updates in Waves Central. But I managed to install und use all v12 Plugins on Windows 8.1 using their latest offline installer from March 2021

-->https://www.waves.com/downloads/v12

Download and unzip the offline installer and point latest Waves Central to that Folder. Check all plugins you need (there are choices for single plugins but also for whole Bundles) and install them. At least Cubase now finds all the plugins, maybe also your DAW. Afterwards don't update or the plugins won't work again.

>>[...]I'll never know what v12 has that I'm missing.

-->especially when you use a display with higher resolution, you will benefit from the possibility to resize  (many or all?) plugins. I like that very much.

Best wishes

Thanks mk...

Funny, I don’t even remember this post. I have the puigchild installed and working fine. I don’t remember which version. I'll have to look asap...
