I want to own my stuff. +1 When I was freelancing as a web designer/programmer I could justify the cost an Adobe subscription. Now I can't and so I don't have access to the Dreamviewer, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.. Granted some of my files can be opened in other apps with various losses in detail - but if I can avoid doing so I will never go for another subscription where I don't end up owning the software.
