Not able to play vst after recording

Hi,

this is probably going to be a dumb question but anyway. When I open a VST instrument I can play and record it. When I want to make changes and I arm the track after recording, the midi keyboard makes no sound at all. I can play the recording but I can't add notes or improvize.

Any help is much appreciated. Midi keyboard is a Novation Impulse 49 by the way and all recent drivers have been installed. I'm switching from Logic to Cakewalk so I'm probably missing something stupid.

Hi sir,

they are enabled. For instance I have 4 tracks of U-He Diva opened. When I widen the track view (below velocity) I see different inputs on the button below. Is there a standard one which just triggers the instrument separately when the track is armed. It's probaly just a midi setting but I don't know since I just started working with Cakewalk.

Any help, much appreciated.

Hi Vincent and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

Let me ask (another dumb question), is the audio engine on?  It's the button to the left of the MIDI button in the Transport module in the Control Bar.  Try clicking on that.

Kind regards,

tecknot

Hi all,

thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure the problem lays with my Novation keyboard. I had problems in Logic and now with Cakewalk. The drivers are updated but the firmware isn't. They made a little program which looks like 1980 and of course it doesn't work.

Seriously thinking about a new midi keyboard because this one is just a struggle.
