Solid State Logic X-Comp

I tried it out on a mix last night, an electric guitar bus.  I scrolled through presets and A-Bed until I settled on the one I liked, then adjusted the threshold and went with it. I actually liked it pretty well. Honestly though, I really don't have a strong impression (yet) one way or the other. I'm going to have to read the manual to see how to use "high /low bleed" which are just fancy names for an internal side-chain - I think. I'm also a little disappointed the Knee graph doesn't also show the input signal like the Melda comps do.  Although it does have a neat Input/Output display.

I'm sure it will certainly be a perfectly usable comp - and $20 is hard to beat - especially from the company that makes the hardware. However, I've really barely used it so YMMV.   But I'll give it a 👍 for $20.  Only a tiny bit of buyer's remorse...
