Way Out Ware timeWarp2600

I would say it's cool, except their support says it's only supported on Win 7, and not for Win 10. It works on Win 10, but they won't support the product for unsupported OS.

But for $10, it's a cool stocking stuffer. It's based on the original 2600.

Fyi: the activation will not run in Cakewalk. So you will need another DAW to do the deed. The Reaper demo works just fine...

Edit: Their site now shows Win 10 compatibility. https://sonivoxmi.com/products/details/timewarp-2600#compatibility

@Luc I have this but rarely use it now mainly because of the tiny UI.

It works and sounds OK and for $10 as abacab says it's a good stocking filler :)

Personally, I would spend a little bit more and get the Cherry Audio 2600 which can be had for $20.99 from Everyplugin.

http://everyplugin.com/ca2600.html

Or the ARP2600 V from Arturia. I tried the demo, and it's quite cool! https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/arp2600-v/

But that's full price $149 right now. Maybe wait for a 50% off sale...

I agree with ZT that the tiny UI on the TimewARP 2600 is quite annoying. 🙄

Regrettably I bought this one also. But later I found out that it only runs if you are online! This was not written anywhere, I think that's a kind of scam! My DAW is offline, so I can only use it on my laptop, i.e. wasted money!

Words of solace: I have anyway to many synths, if I am looking for a good sound it takes many hours! 😆

It's impossible to register the plugin as the webpage for registration, http://www.wayoutware.com/ is dead, and has been for quite some time, or so it seems.

This is what you get if you buy the plugin from this offer. There might be a newer version elsewhere that works, but that ain't it.

You are correct. I've owned a license for TimewARP2600 for several years, and it's been one of those annoying activations that resets every time Windows installs a new feature update. But never been a problem until now...

I just launched it, and it requested a registration code, again. FYI, SONiVOX bought Wayoutware some time ago.

But unfortunately, it seems that the registration server is down now. Way to go SONiVOX! Are you seriously still selling this?

Not to mention, the existing owners should be up in arms now! No way to register an existing license? Major fail!

In response to my earlier email to Sonivox about the registration issue, the Software Support Team at inMusic Brands emailed me early this morning.

They asked that I try it again, and it is indeed working today!

I guess that they should consider adding this one to iLok registration, just like the rest of their software.
