cclarry 13,397 Posted December 11, 2020 It's well worth the wait... The upgrade to Personal is $119...
53mph 244 Posted December 11, 2020 Man oh man! I managed to download the main program file last night, but now the Roompack just sits at 0%. I guess they never planned on that many downloads. I'm also quite intrigued as to how I got on their emailing list - I received an invite to try the new software before I saw this message thread, but I don't know how Inspired Acoustics got my email. Tapsa Kuusniemi 210 Posted December 11, 2020 Have to say that their downloader is competing with for the worst downloader price. Why can't they just give the links to the files when you still have to open them to install it...
Carlos Iglesias 67 Posted December 11, 2020 I've been trying to download it since yesterday and it's impossible, with ridiculous speed. They bought the servers at Toys "R" Us.
Pseudopop 174 Posted December 11, 2020 The download speeds are all over the place. In the past hour I got from 10% to 76% and now we're back to downloading at < 100 kB/s. I think the downloader is built around Syncthing, a file synchronization software. Not sure if that explains any of it.
Tapsa Kuusniemi 210 Posted December 11, 2020 First reaction to the basic room (room pack hasn't yet downloaded) is totally meh. Can't yet see what this offers that every other reverb in my arsenal cannot handle. hen I first saw this though this might give Altiverb a run for its money, but listening to this is thoroughly underwhelming and I could not possibly pay such a large sum of money. I would invest in something like Cinematic Rooms from Liquidsonics...
53mph 244 Posted December 11, 2020 The installer is absolutely nuts - it was storming ahead at 76% on the Roompack when suddenly a pop up told me a newer installer was available - "Perhaps it will speed things up" I thought - upon restart, the Roompack is now stuck at 58%. If you press the rescan button, it appears to unblock it (like a digital plunger). I also discovered that Inspired Acoustics is a branch of Entel Kft. – Entel Műszaki Fejlesztő Kft. A Budapest-based privately owned Entel Engineering Research and Consulting Ltd. Anyone ever heard of them before? Their website looks like they work a lot in Acoustic Solutions for buildings, a subject that I find very interesting.
LAGinz 274 Posted December 11, 2020 Leaning toward a pass on this. I too have had virtually 0% download rates on the Roompak portion of this. I’m pretty pleased with Reverberate 3 and doubt this thing is worth the installation frustrations.

It feels like trying to download a Linux distro on dialup.
Paul Young 1,069 Posted December 11, 2020 So the developer has a proprietary download but couldn't put the time in to create a manual or help file, You have to go to the website for such info.

It's pretty good when you download the rooms - and i suspect that the additional controls in the 2paid" versions will make it sound even better. They're certainly having some teething problems - but this may just be a hot item once they get their downloading infrastructure fixed. The download speeds are very good (14MB/s on my 100 Mb/s connection) *when it's working* (which doesn't seem to be too often... It seems that the best time for Europeans to download is in the morning/afternoon - while the US is still asleep
MimoJP 1 Posted December 12, 2020 Having finally installed it all after 23h of down(+up?)loading, it works fine when listening in real time. However, I wasn't able to figure out how to make it work when exporting to audio. Any attempt to export, be it in Cakewalk's Channel FX or as a send FX, did just export the dry signals. Then, after that, the effect is also off in real time until I switch to another room and back. I'm not sure if this is a local problem with my machine or if it should turn out a common issue. But everything is subjective. My personal opinion is still meh. If I want something like this I will invest in Vienna MIR.
Sent4th 37 Posted December 12, 2020 What is the complete download size of the Roompack Lite? Yesterday the download was 1.27 GB with 8.14 GB to go, this morning it is 100% downloaded at 4.89 GB. Is this the correct size of the INSPIRATA Roompack Lite? What is your total downloaded size?
Pseudopop 174 Posted December 12, 2020 Mine is 7.58 GB.

Sent4th 37 Posted December 12, 2020 Okay, I deleted the files and started the download again. The server must have been overwhelmed over the past few days. The new download took about 30 minutes and the total was 8.14 GB. This is a great free plugin even if it is a lite version.
FrankP 10 Posted December 12, 2020 Yes, this is a great plug-in, in spite of it is just the first release. It needs process power, but I found this reverb awesome for creating the real huge acoustic environment.
emeraldsoul 1,189 Posted December 12, 2020 I'm trying to use less reverb in my mixes, trying to save space on my hard drives, trying to avoid aggravation, and trying to let go of attachments in the Buddhism sense. Can't wait to hear how great this is so I can eventually buy the full version and spend some quality time watching a download crawl filling up an SSD. !
