Hi folks haven't posted any material for a while as I have been busy with live streaming work!
Anyway here is a song by a group called Casting Crowns and it is a work in progress for me.

As always I appreciate your comments and will update the project as they come in.
Cheers,

Gary

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left his throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight, tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Mary shivers in the cold
Trying ti keep the savior warm
Born among the animals
Wrapped in dirty rags because there was no room for him
In the world he came to save

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh countries of Scandinvia
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the bridegroom has returned
And has carried his bride away in the night, in the night

Norway, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
Norway will we go down in history
As a country with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping
Scandinavia
Looks like another silent night

Hey Gary - I love this song by Casting Crowns!

the piano sounds really great on this!

the vocals, don't do it for me, tho.  they're not all "together" sync'd and they're louder than the piano and other instruments.  too much reverb on them, too.  don't hide your vocals behind verb and multiple tracks.  they will sound great on their one!  I'd suggest going back down to one track, you could comp different parts if no one track is good all the way through.  I'd love to hear some harmonies, too.  you could do harmonies with yourself if you don't have someone else to help.

great job!  thanks for sharing!

Gary , Great song and especially your "silky" vocals. I don't know what's happening with the synth and piano but they don't have the clarity I think they need to compliment your vocals. They may be just a little too far up front. I think the vocals should be the star in this one with the backing just quietly reinforcing it . Anyway ..  I know it won't be done till you're happy with it .    Enjoyed  it ..     mark

You know that sometimes all a song needs is the message, warts an' all, I have always felt your vocal is burnt chocolate .. soothing with an edge ... who played piano, a little bright in the mix but effective, although sometimes a contrast in the melody can be a great help to reach the listener, in the work you achieved this before your chorus .. have to say overall this song reached my heart ... really ....  and you don't need my comment mate to know you have talent !

Great songwriting thanks

Stay well

I like your voice Gary Brun.  The lyrics are kind of wild, almost irreverent?  maybe not.   I've never understood modern Christian music (if that's what casting crowns is), just not my cup of tea.  Great production though and very entertaining.

Thanks for listening David and taking time to comment.
Appreciated.
