How to copy repeating phrase/measures?

Recommended Posts

I have a project I am working on that has a track that repeats itself every 8 measures.  I have accomplished this by copying the 8 measures, placing the cursor/marker (whatever it's called) after the 8 measures and clicking PASTE.  This got quite tedious having to do this numerous times in the track.   Is there a way to either tell Bandlab to copy the segment X amount of times?  Or a way to not have to keep moving the cursor and clicking PASTE?  Or a way to drag the 8 measure segment so it copies itself over numerous measures?

I've read, Duplicate Selected Clip(s) in the reference guide but it is a bit over my head.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

You can copy and  paste a clip or selected section as many times as needed within the “paste special” command.  It is in the paste command itself..

Or Groove Clip Looping.

It takes some learning and practice but should do what you have described, especially worth learning if you will be using it often.

Search it on youtube, lots of vids.  Can be used for midi or audio.

The flexibility and convenience of Copy pasting things in Cakewalk have been one of the big reason I love Cakewalk. Try to play around with "Paste special" and ctrl + D, you will get an idea how they really help your copy pasting work flow.
