X-53mph Posted October 16, 2020 Share Posted October 16, 2020 Hey guys, I'm putting together a song which is meant to sound like Bob Dylan The Times They Are A-changin'. Does anyone have any tips on how to get that guitar sound? Type of compression? I'm guessing Tube compression. Not much bass. Does anyone have any more precise tips? Acoustic Sessions Posted October 20, 2020 Share Posted October 20, 2020 From what I've gathered, those early 1960's Dylan tracks where recorded live in the studio all in one shot, through a single microphone. Any perceived effects where probably due to microphone placement more than anything else. Dylan's initial "purest folk period" was all about the lyric, the music and recordings that followed were no more than a vehicle to convey his observations.
