It provides a copy of the audio track that is frozen, so you can manipulate it further. You can also just copy the frozen clip to another audio track and it will remain there, even after unfreezing the original source track.

He mean's the Windows desktop... but it could equally be dragged to a standard Windows folder.

BTW - you can do the same with MIDI clips, and they're saved as Standard MIDI files.

That is why CbB is great for sampling, just freeze and drag to the browser.
