DaGeek 29 Posted August 25, 2020 Are you sure there is a free upgrade to the Standard Edition? I did not see this on their website.
Larry Shelby 12,408 Posted August 25, 2020 That's what it said when I bought it...my 2020 expires in Oct...so I bought it. I think right now is the grace period for purchases so should include the upgrade

Mitch_I 11 Posted August 26, 2020 I'm still using the 2016 version, and I hate it because of the bugs. Maybe some of my problems are caused by trying to prevent it from doing backups whenever it wants. I turn off scheduling and stop the scheduler service, but that doesn't seem to convince it. And when I start the program, it immediately gets busy updating one of my existing backups. (My solution to that is make them read-only.) It's probably the buggiest program I've ever had on a personal computer, and I don't feel like paying them for another set of hassles. I am alone, or has it improved? Larry Shelby 12,408 Posted August 26, 2020 It's worked fine for me for years...that's why I keep using it.

Mesh 1,680 Posted August 26, 2020 Sadly (or not), I'm still using a version from 2013. 🤐 Fortunately, never had any issues with it (just have it doing monthly backups). I should see what upgrades I have available.

Never had this issue and I've been using it for ages. You might be configuring your back up as the wrong type.
Paul Young 1,005 Posted August 26, 2020 I've had the 2010 version work despite the claim it didn't support W10. All machines have 2020 installed. If you wait the best deals come from Acronis.
Conjugal Visits 3 Posted August 26, 2020 I never install it, just make a bootable disk and do backups manually when I choose, never had an issue. I wouldn't like something like this running in the background, or have to deal with trying to reign it in, hence I never install it.

I always choose Single Version Scheme. And I always choose Do not schedule. I have to select these options every time, since my choices aren't saved between sessions. I suspect that if my choices were saved, I wouldn't be having the problems.
Mesh 1,680 Posted August 29, 2020 Can this be upgraded from any version?
Larry Shelby 12,408 Posted August 29, 2020 Just now, Mesh said: Can this be upgraded from any version? No Mesh...it will check your serial # to see if it's eligible for the upgrade. If you are asking can you buy this, then yes, as it's not an upgrade, but the full version that is automatically eligible for the upgrade to 2021

Larry Shelby 12,408 Posted August 31, 2020 18 minutes ago, abacab said: It expires? Yes...Acronis True Image is like a Subscription...you get all updates and upgrades for 1 year. So, if you had 2020, and it expired in Oct., after Oct you would no longer get updates or upgrades...
