razor7music 235 Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) Hello I feel like I might be late to the game, but what is the group's opinion on Fab Filter plug ins? Looking at Pro Q 3 Edited July 18, 2020 by razor7music
Max Arwood 135 Posted July 19, 2020 Pro Q3 is the bomb! EQ and Dynamic EQ. Great GUI! It does not color the sound - it is a very clean and transparent EQ. I use Waves Q10 (less CPU) for little stuff and Q3 for the bigger edits. I love all the Fabfilter stuff - they seem to do well in Cakewalk. I don't remember a crash related to their plugins ever. RBH 160 Posted July 20, 2020 Yea - They're top notch. Wish I could afford to get all of their plugs.
Skyline_UK 58 Posted July 20, 2020 I've had them for a long time, they're high quality in functionality and looks, but I hardly ever use them. Reason: out of all my plugins they impose the heaviest CPU load and it becomes a pain adjusting the project environment to cater for this.
razor7music 235 Posted July 20, 2020 Looks like Fab Filter is having a sale right now. Still too much for my budget. 🥺
Max Arwood 135 Posted July 21, 2020 The only ones I use all the time are Pro Q3 and Saturn 2. Q3 in every project-not on tracks just buses. In Q3 you have some options you can change to lower CPU usage. Manual says Q3 is more efficient than Pro Q and Pro Q2. If I didn't have Q3 I would use Waves Q10 or Renaissance Eq then Melda or Waves for the dynamic EQ. Max Arwood
