Kawai K1 vsti

Recommended Posts

The one thing Iacking from the original was no filter. And still don't know where to place the preset "kill the fly"

Had a K1 and a K5m... and later a K4.

Made extensive use of all three.

K5 had some amazing horn sounds.

K4 had 16Bit samples... and filter (in the vein of Korg's M1 but scaled back cost).

Oh god, I hate to ask this, and it IS a serious question too...  (sigh)  Full Kontakt required?

Simple plugin at that (no installer just the VST plugin dll)

Does it work well, I mean is it buggy at all?

Can confirm its a 64/32 bit vsti. So Kontakt not required. Has behaved with Cakewalk. Just been lost in a pile of nostalgia with it and wondering how I thought I was going to conquer the world with it back then....ha !

I've been using my K1 as a MIDI controller from the day I bought an Atar1 1040STE and started down this road.  Its right in front of me but I haven't heard its actual sounds in 20 years.  Looks like I'll be able to hear it again!!!

Using the real thing to run a virtual model of the real thing?   ...  🤔

I found some soundbanks at sysexdb.com  under Kawai
I'd post the link but apparently the forum s/w won't let me.
