Jim Roseberry 745 Posted May 21, 2020 Wow! I remember talking with Bruce Richardson (years... maybe decades ago) wanting waveform scaling in Cakewalk/Sonar.
cclarry 24,247 Posted May 21, 2020 It's released...run BLA to update
Jim Roseberry 745 Posted May 21, 2020 Installed 2020.05 early release Ran BLA and applied the available update CbB now shows v2020.
cclarry 24,247 Posted May 21, 2020 Obviously a "glitch" in the BLA that sees the EA version as "Not current"
scook 4,211 Posted May 21, 2020 AFAIK, BA is production only (always has been). The EA is only available in the EA announcement thread and is a link to an update installer on Google. If BA installed EA releases new users could not get a production release during the EA period.

Will have to make note of that BLA issue.
scook 4,211 Posted May 21, 2020 It is by design. From Quote To roll back to the previous release version, you will need to uninstall Cakewalk and reinstall from BandLab Assistant Although rollback installers are in the EA announcement thread starting with 2020.04 EA, having the the production version available in BA not only allows new users a chance to use the production release during the EA period is it a way for EA users to fully restore back to the production should rollback fail. Also, if a user is not running the current production release and wants to try the EA version, they need a way to update to production because the EA installer is an update installer that must be applied to the current production release or as a fix to the current EA release. They already have a "Rollback" installer....why would they incorporate that into the BLA... makes no sense, and state specifically in the EA thread to use the OFFERED rollback installer? Why not just say USE BLA to Rollback if there are issues AND STATE THAT? I'm not saying that THAT isn't the way that it is...I'm stating its DUMB.
scook 4,211 Posted May 21, 2020 BA is not coded by the CbB dev group. It is developed and maintaned in Singapore and predates BandLab's purchase of Cakewalk IP. BA was created as a support tool for BandLab, the Chrome-based DAW. CbB support was added later. There may come a day when BA is expanded to include more sophisticated CbB install options. 1
