Melodyne cre83.dll crash

Recommended Posts

Using Melodyne 3.2. Using cakewalk vst utility scan - it always locks up the scan when it reaches the cre83.dll. Has there been a fix/workaround yet? Sucks to have to locate it on a different drive.

Thanks in advance for any help.

AFAIK Melodyne 3 is the 32bit Melodyne Studio. I suppose it will work with CbB but I have never seen a copy of it.

Melodyne 2 and Melodyne 3 were folded in to a single product, the Melodyne 4 series. This is the first time all 4 flavors of Melodyne used a common code base and it was the first 64 bit version of Melodyne Studio.

Probably cre83.dll is resource file of Melodyne 3, not VST plugin file.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Celemony\Melodyne.3.2\Resources\cre83.dll
C:\Program Files\Celemony\Melodyne.3.2\Resources\cre83.dll

Have you got the following folder at the VST scan path in the preferences?

C:\Program Files\Celemony\Melodyne.3.2\ (Resources)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Celemony\Melodyne.3.2\ (Resources)

If it's in VST scan path, remove it and then try to scan.

  • 1 year later...

Melodyne.dll  hanging when I scan the VST folders lol and this came with Cakewalk.

Also UJAM's VG Carbon VSTi refusing to load, loads flawlessly in Reaper.

How do i delete Melodyne?

Cakewalk a bit flaky compared to reaper.

Plugins not showing when i use the same plugin paths.

The funny thing is Melodyne,a plugin that comes with Cakewalk, hangs in Cakewalk and refuses to load but loads flawlessly in Reaper????

What gives???

P.S. rescanned the plugins at startup.STILL NO UJAM CARBON????????????????????

Loads in REAPER fine,I have the same plugin paths on both DAWS,CAKEWALK being a stubborn mule and Reaper being a gentleman.

Don't know how to fix this???????????

FINALLY!!!!!

VG Carbon finally scanned after I unticked the 2 VST3 migration boxes.

Then I had to use Plugin Manager to move it into my listed plugins.

Phew,Cakewalk lives!
