Piano Roll View Keyboard

Recommended Posts

When in PRV the notes are displayed two octaves higher than the keyboard represents on the left.  Basically a C2 is in line with C4 on the roll.

Because of this, notes that I play on the piano with the left hand record fine but are silent in playback if the perceived octave shift drops below a real piano.

PRV plays A1 as the lowest note on the piano.  Staff view shows the notes properly.  No transpose has been used.

Ideas?

Regards,

Lance

This is puzzling. With show note names selected, the keyboard on the left shows the same note as the note in the roll.

Maybe this relates to the octave name for middle C in MIDI not being standard. The note value for middle C is standardized, and always 60. However, although middle C is called C4 in most devices and DAWs, others call it C3 or even C5.
