Peter - IK Multimedia 2,434 Posted January 10, 2020 The Professor is gone, truly crushing and terrible news. At least he lives on in all of the great music we get to enjoy while we are still in the midst of our mortal coil.
BassDaddy 835 Posted January 10, 2020 That's not good. A real musician. Not a rock star/pop star, a true musician. That's about the best thing to be as far as I'm concerned.
ZincT 2,530 Posted January 10, 2020 Sad, sad news. A true legend 😔

Larry Shelby 25,999 Posted January 11, 2020 When I saw it on Facebook, I was taken aback. I looked at WHO published it, to make sure it was a "legitimate" source, and not one of the numerous HOAXES. Sadly, it WAS legitimate, and that was like being punched in the gut...
Marc Cormier 905 Posted January 11, 2020 The fact that he had already passed three days ago only made it worse.
Marc Cormier 905 Posted January 11, 2020 Whatever you do, don't search for "Neil Peart tribute" on EBay...they're already pushing RIP tee shirts.
Marshall 231 Posted January 11, 2020 One of the musicians of my life. First saw him with Rush in 1979 in London. A lifetime of memories
jimbo21 7 Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) One of most unique guys in rock. I was drawn to Rush's sound from early on. The thing that made them so great to me was the themes of his lyrics. He was the one member of Rush that I most wanted to meet and talk with, even though I'm a bassist primarily and Geddy's a hero to me. Maybe he couldn't pretend a stranger was a long lost friend, but I felt that way. Edited January 11, 2020 by jimbo21

briandeeley 6 Posted January 11, 2020 Totally devastated. RIP Neil. Music has lost the most gifted drummer i have ever had the honour to see.
Paul Young 2,019 Posted January 11, 2020 He retired. I wonder if Rush will ever perform again. He's not replaceable but some groups move on. Sad I never got to see them live. You just don't find a trio that skilled.
