  1. Hi: I'm a long time Cakewalk user. In the past I used to have a multi port MIDI interface (now obsolete) and connect all my synths there. Now I don't have that MIDI interface anymore and, as most modern synths have USB MIDI, I connect all my synths directly to the computer. The problem is that not always want to use all my synth, sometimes I just turn on a single one and Cakewalk just mess all MIDI port selection on the MIDI tracks. The MIDI data (notes, etc) is sent to the wrong synths. I have to set the MIDI port for every MIDI track every time. Even if I turn on all my synths, sometimes Cakewalk change the order of MIDI ports and again I have to set the MIDI port for every MIDI track. Same happens when sending MIDI clock to my drum machine, after opening a saved project the MIDI ports are in a different order and the MIDI clock is sent to a different port so my drum machine doesn't start. Also if I have set an instrument definition for a MIDI port, I lost that assignment... So, please make Cakewalk remember the MIDI port settings. If I have a MIDI track and the MIDI port output is set to a MIDI port named SynthX (all my MIDI ports have the name of the synth), next time I open the project that track should be assigned to the MIDI port SynthX, and if that MIDI port is not available (not connected), should be routed to a dummy MIDI port, not to other MIDI port, if I want to route that MIDI data to another MIDI port I will do it myself manually (letting Cakewalk choose a random MIDI port doesn't help). Thank you!
  2. Hi all. I apologize if this is not the right place for this, this is my first post here. I am having some problems with Cakewalk 2022.11 build 021 and am hoping someone here can help. I have 3 USB-MIDI I/O cables connected to my Windows machine, via a USB hub, and they are connected to 3 different MIDI devices. 1-keyboard, 2 drum machines. They appear in Windows as "USB MIDI Interface" in Windows, but they seem to be conflicting in Cakewalk. I've edited their Friendly names in Edit/Preferences/Midi/Devices and through a process of elimination, identified which one is connected to which device. I've changed their names and their channels accordingly and got everybody to respond for the most part, both inputs and outputs. I saved my CWP file for the project, and even tried saving the settings with a template, but no matter how I try, I can't get Cakewalk to retain the Friendly Name information. This is maddening, as I don't want to have to repeat this process, for each project. Is this a known bug? I can't seem to find anything on it. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? (likely) Can anyone assist?
  3. Good afternoon fellow Walkers... I've been using Cakewalk and Sonar for years - recently started using Cakewalk for bandlab... I'm rusty and there are differences. I bought a Nautilus and using USB midi interface. Focusrite 2i2. I've configured CW for Nautilus - numerous times. I even got to make the keyboard trigger SI1 drums today and record a track. BUT - when I go to use the internal sounds of the Nautilus - the board is SILENT - no sound. And only way I've been able to get the sound back is to reboot the keyboard - which takes many minutes. Anyone have similar circumstances? Am I missing something simple? Thanks, Steve
