I have been using Cakewalk since the beginning and been faithful to the DAW and know it well. I created a new song and it has sends and returns and aux tracks and effects automation you name it... 60 tracks. My computer is a beast and can handle anything and everything but when I load this song now that its done and try to do anything to it, even just press play, it freezes and and i have to just close the program with ctrl/alt/delete after it says its not responding. I dont understand why. Is the file corrupted? I did change the audio folder to my second drive after hearing the program will run smoother with the program on the operating system drive and the data on another drive.... What do i do? Is the program corrupted or the cwp being on a different drive than the audio files causing this freeze? I need help as I'm trying to finish my second album and this is a main song for it. Can I repair the program without uninstalling it and reinstalling? Please advise. I'm now upgrading to using a newer computer, faster etc. I'm going to reinstall older Sonar programs (to get ALL the previous addons, plug-ins, 3rd party programs, which is what I want) but do I HAVE to install them in sequenced order of their number (X1, X2, X3 then Platinum and finally CWB)? Or can I install them in any order? I ask bc I already installed Platinum and CWB following the recommendation for previous Sonar owners but am still missing some content from previous Sonar versions. I want them all. Do I now have to start over and uninstall the Platinum and CWB and start again with installing IN ORDER the Sonar X1, on up etc? I hope not because then I think it will likely require me to erase some registry entries. I don't want to mess up my registry or my Cakewalk functionality. Just hoping someone here has done the same thing and has experience to know how I should proceed to avoid hassles. OR... how to get the old Command Center to do them all for me..? So far it will default to Platinum and I can't get it to do the same for the other Sonar products I own. Thanks. -
Recently I moved into Windows 10. Things had been going quite normal. I even re-installed previous Sonar versions like X3 and things had been fine for the most part. However, there's this soft synth from Korg, the M-1 which was opening fine within Platinum while on Windows 7 and also using it on X3. It happens now, if I decide to use it within Platinum on Windows 10; after you select the synth and as soon as you open it, Platinum crashes and it closes itself. It never did such before... I re-installed the synth thinking it was the synth but after I tried it again within X3 and even another DAW called Studio One, the M-1 responded as expected. Of course I concluded that the issue is within Platinum. I sure need some suggestions about how to look for some kind of way around it... Thank you, GS

Hey, I'm really stuck. I'm recording vocals over instrument tracks. I pressed something by accident and all I can hear now is the vocals. It's a project specific setting as other projects play fine. Offset mode is off and all the gain levels are at 0. The clips themselves are not playing as no signal is showing on the meters except for the vocal track. It's the latest version of Sonar Platinum Thank you
